Little did I know that the video which was uploaded when I was 14 will help me get through this important topic in my ug .. Great presentation...Thank you for this:)

Only 2 mistakes are: 1st gp120 interacts with CD4 receptor, and CXCR4 and CCR5 are co-receptors, and 2nd mistake is - virion is not assembled in nucleus, rather in cytoplasm of the cell. Rest of the video is really good :)

Good video but the double stranded DNA is synthesised through complementary base pairing of the template DNA strand this is carried out by DNA POLYMERASE and not reverse transcriptase. RT only makes the first Single stranded DNA that's acts as a template to make the second one
@brightpalmer6836 Жыл бұрын
This is not correct. Reverse transcriptase is responsible for both the formation of the first stranded DNA as well as the second stranded DNA using the first DNA as a template. My only correction will be that the virus GP 120 receptor FIRST interacts with the CD4 receptors on T helper cells. This interaction causes a conformational change in GP 120 which then interacts with CCR5 co-receptor and the process continue.....

That is not correct. Reverse transcriptase has triple function: 1) RNA dependendent DNA transcriptase ( to create ssDNA), 2) ribonuclease H ( to disintegrate HIV ssRNA), and also 3) DNA dependant DNA Polymerase - which creates ds DNA chain. Only 2 mistakes are: 1st gp120 interacts with CD4 receptor, and CXCR4 and CCR5 are co-receptors, and 2nd mistake is - virion is not assembled in nucleus, rather in cytoplasm of the cell. Rest of the video is really good :)

Isn't it gp120 on hiv bind to CD4 on host cell Then only bind to coreceptor Correct me if I'm wrong....

sir i want u to take detailed lecture about the virology and entomolgy also. other viruses like arboviruses, oncogenic viruses, respiratory visuses, enteroviruses etc...

I have 2 questions I will appreciate it if you answered me 1- during transcription will the RNA polymerase will transcript the whole genome including the PROVIRAL DNA then translate the mRNA making proteins for the host genome and viral dna? Is this why we need protease to separate the viral protein from host proteins? 2- in interning the host cell HIV virus have 2 rna where the other go? Also before the release of the virus they’re supposed to have 2 rna where did they come fro?

Need a better(broad) explanation that, how the Retrovirus Genome is inserted in our genome.

Better go for ncbi website, it has everything

Yeah, but their representing style seems tough to me as I am still a school-grade student.
