Awesome video love to watch them. I did exactly the same thing and watched some of your vids on splits before , first year beekeeper by the way I have 2 10 frame hives before going on vacation. I found 2 queen cells in one . I left it in the old hive took older queen on the frame with brood and put it in the new eight frame hive with 3 brood frames, and 2 full of honey shook bees in the cooler about four frames older flew away I put extra two empty frames on the sides with sugar water and pollen patty and is doing great. I’m back from the vacation 10 days after I see new bees and foraging Will try to keep it wintered here in the Pacific Northwest. Thanks for the videos!!ps Will add extra build empty comb soon and will check if I have new queen good that I have an extra hive near with deferent genetics and few drones!

Kamon our yard in western Wisconsin is the strongest producers. Crazy harvest. Glad you are there! But with all the rain, about 70% swarmed. Nutty year.

Hay did something goofy a week ago. Caught a swarm in trap. Procrastinated too long. Moved to a box. Of course the field bees homed in on the original spot. Had extra queen so put in to see what happens. Have not looked yet. Love and learn.

I gave a queen with some bees to my sister 10 days ago. I hope the remaining bees make some cells and I get to make some splits tomorrow. Very timely video. Thanks Kamon🤓 Also, could you slip over to South Dakota and help me lift these honey boxes? The flow is ON!!!

@@kamonreynolds Thanks man... I know it is late but our flow goes until early September with the goldenrod... I hope they get mated as I have a couple of queenless hives that need queens.

If all the old bees fly back to the old hive, how do resources get to the new hive?

Some of the young bees will graduate early but the first week they will be pretty light on foragers. There is a lot of new brood emerging out and we gave them some more frames with food so they should be pretty good.
