Hive YouTubers is Killing Nethergames

People who say that nethergames should be more like hive or cubecraft are pretty much condradicting themselves, they get annoyed at ng for being a "hypixel copycat" and then pretty much say it should be a hive or cubecraft copycat. To be fully honest nethergames could be much more popular then it currently is, however the only reason it's not is because youtubers who main servers like hive play it for like a hour and say "They should change this" and when ng does change it the change upsets the people who actually played it more than a hour, then said youtubers see that but again say "It's not creative enough imo". I don't understand why they make videos about it needing to change and then when it does change they just still say it's not good enough. What's the point in saying it needs to change but when it does not acknowleding that.

Amazing job, also the funny part is I actually originally found NG from looking up how to get Hypixel on bedrock but it wasn’t actually hypixel so I only played for a few minutes, which I found it again another way by finding a jack_cw stream. But I have tried to convince some people with some points in this video but they just won’t try it still. Anyways good video I enjoyed it a lot.

This is something I want to point out as well since people in bigger communities hate the direction these servers are taking as they keep being clones of big servers like Hypixel and Minemen. You kind of already touched on this but I want to share why they probably stay like this despite them being bashed by giant influencers. The reason I feel like why you see Hyperlands, NetherGames, and Zeqa is simply because that's the only successful way to make your server grow and gain a substantial playerbase as a non-featured server. Try to name a server today that competes with the three titans of non-featured servers... You can't really think of one. What I wish influencers realized is that yes, they may be hypixel copies, but that's the only way to succeed as a bedrock server. Making something original and succeeding as a server is almost impossible (as shown by Conquests). There's already servers that have original takes on their own gamemodes that already seize the people who want something original such as Hive and Cubecraft and they are simply too hard to compete with and kill every original non-featured server. There's three reasons for this. 1. They're a well-established server who have probably made the most acceptable interpretation of gamemodes you can see. No one else can compete since those servers set the standards everyone has and fit the standards perfectly. 2. They're a featured server which helps them gain players and makes it more common to get into those servers, which is a really easy way to grow and people will gravitate more to servers with a bigger player count. Take Galaxite for example, if it weren't for it being a featured server they wouldn't have ever survived as they'd be drowned out by Hive and CC. You can make the argument that they should try to become a featured server, but there's no "guide" or "application" to be one, which makes it really hard for non-featured servers to get a playerbase. 3. They were simply there first when the idea of being original was becoming the expectation. They were the first ones who made these interpretations well and because of it they've had the most time to get players, as well as the players back then were more tolerable when it came to original gamemodes and how they performed since there weren't many other servers they could use as an alternative. This is also a reason why you see Galaxite as a server struggle so much despite it being original and fun, it's simply because Hive and Cubecraft did it first. Basically the space where people try to be original is too competitive and there's too many servers who leech those players that it makes it impossible for server growth. I do want to mention brokenlens because this is the only argument I've really heard since they are the only server that doesn't really apply to this, but keep in mind that the server was one of the first and was running for years upon years until it shut down. I feel like they only got a playerbase because they were there from the start, but now that there's so much competition in the server scene I don't think we'll ever see a server fill up the space brokenlens had. They basically had that OG status and personally I think that's the only reason why they were successful enough to stand out. While there's servers that have to compete in order for who is the best original server, there's no one competing for the title of "best java server copy" which is really the only other goal as a server you can fight for. Since that margin of competition is much more passive, it's much easier to gain players, and this is exactly why you see HL, NG, and Zeqa do so well; they're the only ones fighting each other (unless you really count servers like Ectary or Venity, but personally I don't count them since they can't compete as much). The competition they have is far different than the other big servers, and that's exactly why it gains players since it has a different purpose. This probably very confusing to read since I made this in like 5 minutes, but anyways thank you for coming to my TeD talk

In my opinion, if you don't want to play NetherGames (or other similar servers) because it's a Hypixel clone, and even if that's your main criticism of the server, that's completely fine. There's an argument to be made that what the "Hypixel Clone" servers are doing is kinda immoral - Taking Hypixel's ideas and copying them as close to 1:1 as possible (with a few exceptions) is like if someone recorded this video, changed the background gameplay, and posted it on Facebook to try to make money - A lot of people would not watch or support that person purely because they essentially stole a piece of content. That being said, becoming more original probably isn't going to help NetherGames. They kind of put a limit on how much the server can grow/achieve the day they decided to be a Hypixel Clone, but it also lead to a pretty decent playerbase.

What I wanted to point out was that in search of growth, servers like nethergames will look to what influencers have to say about the server. By their logic, pleasing big creators will get attention to the server. Which is not true. Creators themselves don't know what to categorize as copies and what not. It's fine for zeqa to copy but oh no if nethergames does it it's a sin.

I used to play I lot of nethergames in 2020-2021 . But after the unlock of lockdown I with many others left minecraft with made the player count less like ng went from 2000+ to now only 1500+ at max, hive also in covid it had 20000+ but now only 7000+ . The other reason is just that players got bored from playing the same game and the same server and probably found I new game which is exciting (like I found) made the prayers leave the server as well as the game. Like in my I use to play 4+ hours of minecraft 3+ hours specially on ng during covid but after covid I left the game permanently cuz many of my friends did so

great video. my first impression of hyperlands was not great ,all these popular bedrock ytbers who probably didn't play nearly enough of these servers blocks so many new players who might just want to play hypixels but could because of their situations .mine was I didn't have a computer .its always better to get an opinion from ppl with experience in that particular situation, so similarly people who actually play can give a larger perspective, able to pinpoint the cons from the pros, and overall give a firsthand experience . I think ytbers of hyperlands and nethergames are finally opening the community to reality.

When I started playing Minecraft PvP the first server I played was Nethergames since I watched a lot of KZbinr play on hypixel in java. But after a week I quit playing on it. And tried hive and then I didn't play Ng for around 6 months but after 6 months I played it. It was quite fun but after that I haven't played Ng. I'm a zeqa main now. When Ng had hypixel maps I also used to call it a copy . But right now I don't think it is a copy but I just don't play it cus of bad block placements, so much hitreg, randomly teleported back and much more.

The big youtubers don't realise 1 single fact. The majority of Minecraft players are mobile players Who first learned of Minecraft through Java youtubers playing hypixel. Then they start wanting to play and unable to buy Minecraft download a pirated version then try playing hypixel only to know that it doesn't exist . This is the most disappointing moment while playing Minecraft for them. Unable to accept this they try to cope with similar servers. They first try servers like lifeboat which has a so called bed wars which is a disappointment. After this they search on KZbin on how to play bed wars on Minecraft only to found nethergames,hyperlands and venity. These three becomes their last resort for playing bed wars. And now their favourite hxpixel experience is getting ruined by youtubers who don't understand this.

Coming from someone who has spent hours upon hours playing both NG and HyperLands, I can safely a very large portion of these ideas are sadly correct. You can never please an entire community, it's just impossible, and I can confidently say this having spoken to many community members on both the servers mentioned in this video. Since both these servers started as "Hypixel copies" it's hard to adapt, move forward, and make a name for ourselves as servers since we will always be known as that name, even if we completely change the layout and gamemodes on the server. With the logic that most players have, you could arguably call Hive and CubeCraft "Hypixel" copies as well, but they don't because they're featured servers and they have some unique gamemodes as well as have made a name for themselves. In the end the only way any non-featured servers can have a good spread of players in each of their gamemodes, is by becoming featured. Realistically, unique gamemodes won't pull big numbers unless said gamemode has been endorsed by bigger servers and/or content creators. Let's be real - it's not because unique gamemodes are bad, it's because players don't want to try something new unless their friends or favourite content creators endorse them or encourage them to play. It's evident right in front of our eyes as Skywars and Bedwars (or any variant of these) are the most popular games on all servers that have them. This is because these gamemodes have been the most popular from the start. Players don't actually want big change, they just want slight tweaks to their liking from already pre-existing gamemodes. Which again shows that only featured servers can pull players in their least desired gamemodes. CubeCraft and Hive pull at least 200 players on their least played gamemodes, a player count that HL and NG can barely pull on their most played gamemodes. Lets be real, the only way these smaller, non-featured servers can survive is by being featured. Yes, there will always be those OG players who will stick by the server til the end, but people want full games, a stable server, good value for their money, etc. And we can't forget that Minecraft as a game is slowly dying as well, especially Bedrock. We're all growing up and I sadly doubt this game will transfer to the next generation. Again, great video. I really admire you as a content creator and a lot of your work is quite intriguing to me given I rarely step foot on NG anymore. Keep it up 👍

i’m a veteran of Nethergames yet i pretty much despise that server in general not only for being the exact copy of Hypixel but for how hateful and obnoxious the people who play that server are, including the owners, Keith and Dries are literally kids hiding behind a screen and on top of that Eggwars was the original gamemode and Hypixel stole it from CubeCraft Games by turning it into bedwars, so i wouldn’t give Hypixel so much credit either

As someone who used to played NG for a couple years and someone who plays Hive regularly now, I think the problem I had the most is I found more cheaters on Nethergames and HyperLands than on every other server (besides Mineplex). I think one thing as well what I don’t like is the map change as well (when I login every now and then I play I’m still not really used to the new maps but I don’t mind it). But it being a “Hypixel Copycat” isn’t really a bad thing btw, I think it’s good that there is one since usually people like me have probably wanted to play something like Hypixel, that’s why now when I play Hive and other pvp gamemodes I play more “strategically” than actually pvping since from my experience on NG (sorry for long comment)

most people left nethergames because they are not intrested in games anymore. its not nethergames fault. they tried they're best on doing the best they could, but in the end they have a average 300-400 players. way back then it used to be around 3k and grinding nethergames was actually fun, but not anymore. Hello you probably don't know me but I'm the highest leveled player on hyperlands and that shows how invested I am to the server. The past few updates in my opinion had great content but I think the update was meant for the casual users who play when they have the time or feel like it, some of the new additions were hated by me and a lot of the other players who were invested to the server another paradox that is haunting these servers is whether to make games more sweaty and competitive for the hardcore invested players or lose them for way more casual players who don't play much and kill their community. Hyper has no theme that I noticed and keeps going back and forth so hyper is like in the middle of polar opposites like zeqa and let's say pixel paradise

Make sure you have connect to the right region, region queue on, and the specific region is online it's also could be other player's ping too if you have upstream ping higher than downstream, it's most likely your client issue if downstream is higher, it's server side

I mean, I really like NetherGames, it’s probably by far my favorite server And I think, the fact that it is like Hypixel, more like makes it better, because it’s just a great alternative if you just have Bedrock-edition… Sometimes I really can’t understand that hate on NetherGames at all - and I think I‘m not the only one who thinks that

For me I think NG is a great server and I really don’t play it maybe just 10 time at most. And the reason I don’t like hyperlands is because a mod banned me after losing a bridge duel against me, And then when I appealed nothing happened. Unless you have a good reason to not like the server then don’t say anything

Tbh I didn’t even dislike the server because it was a copycat. That part I didn’t get lol The reason why I disliked it is because it felt so much laggier compared to the Hive and Cubecraft and that’s it. (Thanks for coming into my 9 second read).

I love nethergames and i would be heartbroken to see it die and i think adding original maps and removing the copied ones was a good choice. People keep criticizing it for copying hypixel but in reality its an amazing server to play on. And personally after playing hypixel on java and hive on bedrock alongside ng i still prefer ng.

The first server I played on my life is nethergames and it was copy of hypixal that time but it's not copy now, I don't like Hive,cubecraft,etc it's not means that I hate them ,I just don't like them, my favorite server is nethergames and it will.

A fresh start, as in my experience NetherGames was never fully reset. Let's start this topic. 1 } Some players have been unfairly banned. And my friends have also been unfairly banned. 2 } NetherGames needs to be completely reset, which means your stats, level, ban/mute, every punishments, every stat and everything will be deleted,, and it's the right time to reset the server,Because right now the skyblock has just been reset and the factions will be reset very soon. The server being completely reset means that a new server is a new server and non players are banned at server. And all players in the NetherGames who have purchased any rank, and in Skyblock Minions, will be restored. I know it's big deal. But staff have to completely reset the server onceAnd after the server is completely reset some viruses may be removed due to fresh start.✅ many players are new on this server, and the new player thinks that I can't reach that player, the new player will have a chance to reach the old one, so players like skyblock and faction are gridding and reset further To do re-gridding, same as re-gridding on this server, it seems to me that this server only needs to be completely reset once.

The reason i like nether games is BECAUSE its a hypixel clone, and many othe people do as they know hypixel isnt on bedrock.

In opinion hive also is a copy like they have just added the bridge, capture the flag and already some game mod like teasure wars in other words it's also a bedwars game

To be honest I play nether games ONLY because my only computer I have access full time is a school potato and I have to play Minecraft bedrock so no hypixel but I do still hate the server
