Gamma-sensei pretty often talks about the struggle in his previous job (which I'm afraid its refer to his manga career) which always breaks my heart. Aims for manga career especially Shueisha is unbelievably hard, and I'm afraid he was really desperate on it but then choose to stop and aim to be a streamer. It's beautiful to do something you are passionate (Gamma is really passionate as a streamer as well), but every time he looks back at his previous struggle just kept me flooding of tears TT^TT

I hope he will be able to reach his dreams whether as a mangaka or a streamer. Whichever brings him happiness.

Gan-chan talking about his younger self’s comic ideas also reminded me of my younger self, though I didn’t even try to pitch XD I admire him trying again and again even after being rejected, and hey, his Uproar debut comic looked really good! I hope he has plans to make more!

It's actually kind of amazing. I tried making a comic in the summer vacation of last year, I stopped making it because storyboard and inking were too tedious for me, not sketching tho, I like sketching. Anyway I wrote a book with broken English for that mal x honeyfeed contest thingy instead. It's kinda random and edgy. My point is that I've always wanted to make comics ever since fourth grade. Not that I'm that far from fourth grade now but I never had the motivation of this young man. Hats off to Gamma.

Interesting that he tried to pursue mangaka career by pitching his work directly to Shuheisha since very young age. Usually I believe people started out as doujin circle, sell in comiket to build portfolio, then go for big publisher.

Mangaka is a tough career. Everyday there are tons of pitches of different stories, and yours has to stand out amongst them. I have cero creativity, so I wouldn't even be able to come up with an original story that doesn't resemble anything else too closely lol

You need skills, an appealing style, it has to be fun, believable ... not necessary original but fresh and above everything else you need to do it fast, at the very least 30 pages per month... It ain't easy folks, not something you can do with passion alone
@Xemphas2 жыл бұрын
30 pages a month? Yusuke Murata is on crack then, he's been doing 45 - 75+ paged chapters every 2 weeks. All with absolutely beautiful art.
