@TheLallarock the faroese version of this song: "langt burt frá ørðum løndum" is written by Gulak Jacobsen, which takes the melody from swedish original, the same as this song does, but in this song, it is no longer a song about the beauty of one's country as it is in with the swedish and the faroese one, but instead about the girl of ones dreams.

i think this is the original by Monica Zetterlund - Ack Värmeland, Du Sköna . But i think this song is were old at the begining from the 1500.

Jahmanjah1 It’s a very old traditional swedish tune. Most famous lyrics in sweden were written in the 1800s (but the tune is much older) and is called ”värmlandsvisan” or ”avk värmeland du sköna” and have been sung by very many singers through out the years. This song has nothing to do with värmlandsvisan, they have just done the same as they did when värmlandsvisan were written.. they took an old traditional tune and wrote a text
