Another great vid as usual. Originally purchased the V2 version P2000sk as my EDC to replace my M&P 9c. After reviewing various suggestions I replaced the 2 springs to make it a V1 version. Switched it back to V2 the same day as the V1 version trigger pull was just a tad too light for EDC IMO. Just my opinion of course.

Thank you for the great explanation as its hard to get my hands on any of these to try for myself. In your opinion would the V3 be a safer setup than the V1 LEM for someone that appendix carries? I remember before I bought my PPQ45 I was almost intimidated by reviews of how light the trigger is. Then after shooting it I came to find out it was very light but very crisp and did not feel prone to an accidental discharge. I can't find the p2000sk V2 9mm in stock anywhere. Thanks for any input!

Coming from Sig's DA/SA going to the P30SK far a lighter carry option, I have a hard time wrapping my mind around this. The LEM offers a lighter first pull then the DA/SA first pull but after this they are similar in reset and subsequent pulls? For someone who carries appendix and values the long heavy first pull on anything that sticks its barrel near my private parts, what does this really offer then a lighter pull at cost of that added safety?
@TheFirearmGuy7 жыл бұрын
It's a matter of preference. They have several trigger action choices
@steviesevieria18687 жыл бұрын
+Helixx you summed it up, V3 is the way to go
@ptrisonic6 жыл бұрын
The lighter double action is due to the fact that when the slide is cycled (when loading or first shot) the main spring for the hammer is pre-loaded. In other words the trigger is not pulling the hammer all the back against the “weight” of the main spring. Trust this helps. Pete.
@drewjames85946 жыл бұрын
I have the same mindset as you but I do take comfort in the fact that it is a hammer gun so I can hold the hammer with my thumb while re-holstering. If the trigger grabs on something you will feel the hammer try to move and back off. If re-holstering is not your concern then this comment is useless but just wanted to point that out.

I have a weak dominant hand due to a spinal cord injury.. Always shot a 357 Colt Python by pulling the hammer back and cocking it. My deer rifle trigger pull his 2 pounds.(For accuracy) however, I saw below that you recommended the VP9 for first-time gun owners- Would you mind to explain why? I sold my HK p30sk It is a very nice pistol, but the extreme curve of the trigger hurt my finger , and the overall trigger pull wasn't as crisp like any other hammer fired pistol I've had. @tinafey49078 жыл бұрын
TheFireArmGuy Hello again! I pretty much thought that you'd like the number one variant best, just like I would too. That nice 5 to 5.5 lb trigger is a great weight in my opinion. I can't stand it when you have a trigger that's too heavy and it seems like you're pulling forever to get a shot fired (especially when that first round is in DA). This H&K video got me to checking them out too in addition to the MR MR9's etc. that you recommended and some of the MSRP price tag's for H&K and MR aren't that different in prices. So, it's caused me a bit more confusion to be honest. Just too much good stuff! 😉 Did I hear you correctly though that the MR guns come with a rotating barrel system, kinda like the one that Beretta uses?

So, it's caused me a bit more confusion to be honest. Just too much good stuff! 😉 Did I hear you correctly though that the MR guns come with a rotating barrel system (kinda like the one that Beretta uses)? If so, that's very interesting. I've heard that a rotating barrel system makes for better accuracy and possibly better recoil management. I was going to ask you if the MR MR9's or 40's have dropped in price compared to the MSRP? I thank you in advance for any help you could give me on those questions. Take care and I'll TTYS. The Rev.
@TheFirearmGuy8 жыл бұрын
tim fey Rev, the rotating bolt is for the Desert Eagles. Those beauties are different beasts than the MR9. The Beretta PX4 uses a rotating barrel much like the Grand Power X-Calibur that I featured. The MR9 does not have that either. The MR9 will sell for the mid to upper $300s if you shop around. Its the best deal going IMO
@tinafey49078 жыл бұрын
TheFireArmGuy Thank you very much for the explanation! I was under the false assumption that the MR MR9 line also had that rotating ability. You have me checking the MR 9's etc. now. I thank you for bringing them to my attention. I'd love to be able to replace my carry gun in that price range you were talking about-it'd leave maybe enough room to get that AK OR AR variant rifle at the same time. The more guns, the merrier! ☺ I know you feel the same sentiment being a gun nut. I'm close to the same way, just probably not as close to the same level but, I sure do understand your level of enthusiasm brother. Cause, I feel like a kid in a candy store when I'm in a gun shop. May I ask a quick question...have you ever carried the MR MR9 on you before and if so, is it comfortable to use as a EDC? Cause, of your high recommendation, I'm putting that MR9 on my list of possible EDC guns. Thanks again, my friend. As always, you guys are in Mr. & Mrs. Revs prayers! not trying to be a stickler, but from my knowledge the V1 is not the CDA. THe stock v1 has a longer takeup, where as the CDA version or what is called the LEM 4.1 version is the V1 converted to 4.1 which reduces the initial takeup. So there is a difference between the V1 and the CDA. Mine I have right now is a V1 stock, I plan on converting it to the 4.1 or the CDA in the future. hkparts.net/product/p30-p2000-combat-defensive-action-upgrade-for-lem-pistols-4-1-p17647.htm

Please stop calling this a Double Action. It actually has a Double or Two Piece Hammer. The power half is Pre-Cocked. Like a strike fired (not double action. However with these pistols the othe half of the two part (nit double action) hammer must travel all the way to the rear before it can engage the Pre-Cocked (power) half. Tgus the only resistance against the trigger is the Trigger Return spring. Not the hammer or main spring with is only engaged by the power half of the two piece hammer. btw the USP is waaay better than the p2000. Due primarily to simply being a better design coupled with better execution. The closest to this is the Daewoo K51 the ROK military issue side arm. These are imported by Lionheart. I pretty sure they are still using the LH9 designation. Scarce as hen's teeth. Very cool Also Not Double action pistol. I want both. I will have both a USP & an LH9. After i sell some Sigs & CZ's. Are they actually Better? Not really. Some people simply Like them better...right now

Reset is quite bad on these HKs

I disagree. The reset on HKs is very short

HK was built around the plus-p. They shot 30,000 rounds to test. All they did was clean it at that point. A true battle gun. And the first polymer frame on the market. Not the clone Glock junk.

shot 10-20k rounds through my full size glock 22 (.40). it has basically shot itself to pieces. the barrel has lost a lot of its lands, the slide rattles up and down more now, the slide release accidentally triggers if i slam a mag in too hard which can jam the gun, and ive noticed its sometimes hesitant to chamber rounds and requires a smack on the back. the thing is toast, doesnt matter how much i clean it or lube it. hk's just dont do that. i think this is really only a thing in .40 cal. to get a 9mm glock to the same wear you need to shoot atleast 30-50k rounds in my experience.

Didnt HK skip Variant8 and jump from 7 to 9 on their USP's? I never quite understood why...I thought it was to avoid the moniker "V8".
