The Heckler & Koch MP5K has been my favorite submachine gun ever sine I was eleven years old when I first saw it in "Die Hard 2" and in "Terminator 2"!! I want one! Except I don't want a PDW, though, just an MP5K!

I have a PTR made version of this gun. Very much identical to your genuine HK but obviously not the real deal like yours is. No full auto so its just a pistol. I got a brace and an eotech sight on mine.

Thanks. I didn't need to register mine as an SBR because the auto sear trumps SBR status. Once the full auto pack is removed, the firearm can be legally converted back to a title 1 pistol. I recommenced you engrave your SBR info on the rear tang of the receiver by the bottom pushpin hole of the back plate. This is an acceptable area to engrave according to the ATF, and the most discrete.

Congrats! The POF guns aren't all that bad actually, I had one and it worked great for me. The biggest issue seems to be their inconsistent QC and somewhat rough finish.

why did you have it clipped and pinned? i think its a shame that the new sp89's that HK are importing are clipped and pinned. I don't know why they would do that. If MKE/Zenith can get away importing push pin lowers, i'm not show why HK can't. You have a great gun here with all the authentic parts it seems. The only thing not is the clipped and pinned lower with it being full auto (from what i understand). But who cares right!? Its FULL F-ing AUTO!!! hahaha wish mine was!

All Genuine HK receivers made after the late 1960's have a shelf installed on the receiver. I'm not sure, but I think you might be confusing a shelf receiver with clipping and pinning, which is done on the trigger housing. German import laws required that these old 9 series firearms (and the new SP5K) be imported as "sporterized" pistols and rifles without military features, that's why we don't see paddle mag releases and and push pin receivers on them. Turkish import laws are different, so POF and MKE firearms can be imported to the US with those features. There is one big drawback to the Turkish guns for us full auto users though. The ATF required them to add a full auto carrier block in the back of the receiver making it impossible to install a full auto carrier in their firearms. If you were to remove that block, you are by definition of the ATF creating an unregistered Machine Gun. That's one of the main reasons I have no desire to own one. My trigger housing is an authentic German part, the front is just clipped to fit over the shelf on the receiver, and the pin is added to make it look authentic - purely cosmetic. Thanks - it's a blast to shoot, especially in full auto!

lrm1981 ahhh gotcha. I did know that you can not make the zeniths full auto. I also knew that I don't have the money have one so it didn't matter lol. If I came I to money like that I would just buy a different one for that purpose. Way back it was the first full auto I shot for a rental at a range. It had always been one of my favorites and that pushed it over the top!

Unfortunately the going rate for just a registered sear in the current market is $32k USD. I actually saw registered sear and MP5k conversion sell as a package for $42k a few weeks ago. Prices are getting insane.

That's badass ,Nothing like a HK!!! my buddy picked up a Colt M16 fully auto new in the box with all of the factory contents for $14000 2 years ago, it was made in 1987, he got a very good deal. like you said, some people buy them and don't shoot them

Besides keeping it original HK for resale value ,I don’t understand why the HK name demands sooo much $$$$$???? I don’t get it ? My Mke ,or POF ,will kill as fast as your HK ? And the POF is stamped MP5 ? My Chinese AK ,is an AK ,not a clone ???? Must be a German thing .
