That's some actual innovation right there from H&K. Double action only hammer without the double action weight giving you a consistent striker fire feel, but still has re-strike ability. I wish more companies could think outside the box like this.

I had a USP in 40 S&W. The recoil with that gun is remarkable. Very very smooth.

Wow - I was blown away by the laser engraving on the box. While it was absolutely not needed it was impressive to see the amount of detail that H&K has poured into this pistol. It speaks volumes on of the pride of their workmanship. If you want to know if you are dealing with a quality organization ask to use their bathroom. In this case the box tells a lot. Definitely will put this pistol on the short list. Thanks for sharing your review.

Very nice video! This was the first video I've seen that actually showed the loaded chamber indicator, magwell lockout, and the various grip sizes. :)

I agree with you on the paddle mag release, Graham. So much so, that while I am a huge Walther fan ( carry a PPS M1, daily-- *because, among other things, it has the PADDLE MAG RELEASE* ), I'm seriously tempted to switch to H&K! Thanks for what you do! 🖒😎

I’ve only shot the P30 full size, but I love its setup for da/sa with a decocker and especially the paddle mag release. Can’t wait to see how the accuracy is.

I haven't fired my Hk P30Sk for three years. Had a stroke three weeks after getting it, heart defect. I have recovered fine motor control enough to safely and precisely handle a pistol again and now...goddam pandemic.
@bbb462cid4 жыл бұрын
@Liverpool 11 my heart? I mean it's defective but I'm kinda using it. So, maybe. What are you offering?
@bbb462cid4 жыл бұрын
@Liverpool 11 it's a V3. No choice where I live, but a damned good pistol. I actually went to the range with it a few weeks ago. Wonderful pistol, I shot it tolerably well right away.
@bbb462cid4 жыл бұрын
@Liverpool 11 I don't think you can go wrong with the pistol though. The DA is not the best, but I'm told they can be cleaned up and made quite smooth.

My P30sk is very high quality and built like a tank. I wish it held more than 10 rounds in it though. If it held 13 in the standard short magazine it would be beyond perfect.
@spicecrop5 жыл бұрын
They don't make tanks out of plastic. So no your HK p30 is NOT built like a tank.

Can't believe you've never had an H&K. I thought you'd owned everything since the rock became a weapon. ----- I do like that the spring is under the changeable grips so it can be easily reached, cleaned and changed if needed. And it should keep some residue off it. Nice touch.

What size punch did you use to remove the grip pin? Thanks
@stopthephilosophicalzombie90176 жыл бұрын
I think I prefer this to the PPQ SC, despite loving the Q trigger. I don't know about the VP9, but on the PPS, you can use the striker protrusion through the backplate in the same way you are using the hammer as a safety during reholstering.
@GBGuns6 жыл бұрын
Good point

Yes, but the hammer gives a lot more control than the PPQ striker pin.

I was between the P365 for small size and the P30 for the LEM trigger and paddle release. I bought the P30 and very pleased with my decision. H&K ergonomics are far above the Sig, too!

Your friend is correct...gun not cleared till magazine removed. I like to see the floor through the magwell myself.
@kenhoward35125 жыл бұрын
What the person was suggesting is that the magazine must be removed first - not whether it must be removed at all. What G.B. showed is that the slide may be locked back first, then the mag, with the gun still being effectively cleared of ammo (though I personally prefer to remove the mag first).
@chrismcginnis65326 жыл бұрын
?...I was taught letting the slide fwd could cause issues with the magazine follower with the mag still in empty...or is it more just dont do that too often?

@stopthephilosophicalzombie90176 жыл бұрын
I had heard that on some guns the ejector or follower can be hit when you drop the slide. In terms of unnecessary wear, I'm sure it's a good idea to avoid dropping the slide forcefully all the time though.
@GBGuns6 жыл бұрын
I've never experienced any issues with it and do it all the time.

I like the flush-to-frame hammer. I had a USP Compact 9mm that was the same way - I just sold it because, while it may have been "compact" for the mid 1990s, it's just too bulky to even live in my car's center console, let alone a carry holster. I wish H&K made a smaller hammer-fired pistol than the P30SK, because I am an HK fanboy, but I think the Sig P365X just ticks all the boxes for what I'm looking for in a compact 9, aside from being striker-fired.

I also think is better to remove magazine for safety check. But other then that nice video!
@prepsho50076 жыл бұрын
Im not lazy when is about safety. You should think about gun like is ALWAYS load so, if You think : "its ok magazine is empty" You already break that rule. In the dark in stres, on the move, is not that easy to se follower. And im using the same metod everytime. And first what I do is put my finger in place where magazine should be, or should be not in case of clearing.
@porkfatrulz93375 жыл бұрын
Prep Sho If I’m in the dark, under stress, & on the move, I won’t be clearing the weapon! I’ll be loading it!

Critical flaw IMO, when will this ever be fired DA? Only if a round doesn't fire. I believe any da/sa hammer fired pistol needs a decocker or the function is useless. I personally would not be comfortable carrying this gun with a round chambered.
