The engineering of the USP is incredible. No fancy nonsense just a true combat handgun.

I have some counterpoints for you and you don't have to like them. I'm perfectly willing to admit my bias that I already own an fnx45. consider the following: flexibility vs. rigidity - if something is not flexible, it follows that it is brittle. fn is not dumb and they probably did not choose the pliability of the frame on accident. it is clear from the video that you are going to great effort to flex the frame but it is both strong and elastic, and returning to form. this is a desirable characteristic for something you want to receive a beating because it is less likely to crack due to its plasticity. gaps- the fnx tac is designed to be an excellent suppressor host. I cant prove this, but the presence of large gaps may have a degree of functionality in allowing gas and soot to escape somewhere that doesn't throw more debris onto your red dot reticle when suppression creates more back pressure. barrel: hk does go to greater lengths to ensure the precision of their barrel in the slide, however the o-ring is a wear item and may prove to be a disadvantage at a time when you may not be able to conveniently replace it. fn's barrel is also excellent and you wont out shoot the fnx especially at the ranges that 45 is usable for. same goes for the adjustable sight. i see the utility but not in this application. 45 acp, relatively short barrels, and the fact that it is a handgun more or less negates a lot of precision tools that have an application on something like a rifle. i am less impressed that hk didn't add any visibility markings to the sights where fn went to the trouble of including radium night sights for shots in total darkness. springs: the hk magazines have better spring pressure to be sure. the finish and quality of the blued metal fn magazines does make it so that you do not have to worry about your magazines easily evacuating the magwell. I certainly haven't had any issues because the spring pressure is too low. as for the recoil spring, I applaud german engineering for coming up with a complex and effective solution to mitigate recoil exceptionally well. i am not a big fan of designs that introduce more failure points, or are more difficult/expensive to replace. the fn's flat helical spring is designed to handle many thousands more rounds that other wire design recoil springs because of the way the flat spring's geometry causes it to flex less overall. all these combined with hk not having very good aftermarket support, customer support, parts availability, and generally not playing nice with the civilian market, means even if hk's product was objectively slightly better in all the ways you are saying it is, I might still want to give my business to a company like fn who treats its customers well. p.s. fn if you read this please sponsor me

HK Barrel orings are designed to go ten thousand rounds, you get 5 with the gun. The we are HK and hate civilians is pure nonsense. VP is the German abbreviation for "people's pistol " meaning civilians.. I had to call FN regarding my new FN REFLEX, the customer service sucked, a sample of one. USP resale value and new pricing going up like Rolex submariners .. There is a reason for this...

Very thorough look at the difference in quality between these 2 guns! I own a Glock 26, and HK p2000sk, shoot them both well, but the HK has a much more quality feel, and pride of ownership. I read that the p2000 is more related to the USP line, then the newer HK models such as p30, HK 45, and vp9. Do you think the newer HK models have the same quality of the USP line?

Things being as they are both guns are great. I own both and in a side by side double blind taste test people found that tasters choice sucked but they had a blast shooting both of these guns. The fn survived military trials so that speaks to its durability in that arena. As well if my fn fails I’ll finish the job with the hk usp elite 45 with 6” barrel. It is not a vp. I like them both.

@@jasonroberts9357 understand anomalies happen with every brand. That experience is not indicative of the average experience with the platform. @@reker.a5790 I agree. Just making a comment in response to your statement of HK pistols being more rugged compared to the FN. HK pistols do have a (deserved) excellent reputation. My issue was probably a fluke(bad batch of springs?). An HK rep. said the trigger return spring is rated to last 20k rounds. The HK failure just stings because it usually is placed next to my Ruger P95 in my gun closet. The P95 was bought brand new 24 years(for $250) ago has about 8k rounds though it, and has never had any issues! After replacing the spring on the HK and doing some testing, hopefully my confidence can be restored. All the best to you!

I own three HK USPs (plus 4 other HK pistols). You pay for quality. BUT IT IS QUALITY. There is NO comparison between a HK USP and an FN FNX 45 Tactical. The FN has frame flex, a horribly blocky grip, an awful double action trigger pull... The list goes on. Plus the price is horrific. The HK is so much better ($1,300 for an FNX 45 Tactical? really?). Hold an HK in your hands and experience the build quality. If you only value round count, get the FNX and live with the inferiority of the weapon you bought. I'll carry my HK. along with an extra mag. LOL 🙂

You don't know what your talking about when you bring up that frame flex BS . When Glocks first came out everyone raved about how the frame flex soaked up recoil and there were no reliability issues . Now this guy claims it's bad juju . Nothing he mentions has any effect on the reliability or function of the FN pistol , it's all just bias towards the H&K and it's all baloney .

@@michaelboldyga6239 Well, opinions vary. However, many KZbin reviewers have mentioned the flimsiness of the FNX grip and how it flexes. Will it ever be a real problem? Maybe not. However, the point is that the build quality isn't as solid as some of the competition -- including, but not limited to, HK.

Wow. Thank you for talking me out of getting the FNX. Let me show you a comment I left on another channel. Your video really put things into perspective. "I'm currently debating whether to get the FNX-45 Tactical or the USP 45 Tactical. What annoys me is the FNX-45 comes out of the box with suppressor height night sights and a thread protector, while the USP does not. Keep in mind the USP is $340 more expensive, not including the thread protector and night sights which you still have to get. Lastly, I haven't been able to find suppressor height sights for the USP. For some reason Trijicon only makes standard height night sights for it. So in conclusion, if I go with the USP over the FNX, I'll be shelling out $1680 (after upgrades) instead of $1200, and I still wouldn't have all the features the FNX comes with out of the box. The ONLY reason I'm still even considering the USP, is because it's a USP. In your video where you had like six of them on the table, you said the USP is the MOST tested and proven handgun ever made, or something to that effect. I think I still favor the USP even after all of this. If the standard (non-tactical) USP 45 wasn't sold out at the moment, I wouldn't even be considering the FNX or the USP Tactical."

DA20 Bro BUY THE USP 45 TACTICAL…. I promise you won’t regret it. It’s worth every penny. The Tactical dose come with ADJUSTABLE NIGHT SIGHTS and you can buy taller sights from Hk, but a better solution is to get a lower profile can. It holds 3 less rounds BUT what no one ever tells you is it’s a real BITCH TO FULLY LOAD A FNX 45 MAG TO 15 Rounds. Seriously you need like a tool. The spring is way too tight and it feels like the floor plate of the mag is gonna break loose. if you leave the mag fully loaded, the spring pressure will also start to crush the bullets. The HK mags load very easy and 12 rounds is more than enough to get the job done. The FNX is nice for the range. But if you got put in some real work you want the Hk on your hip BROTHER 👍🏽

Do I think the shortcomings of the FNX are greatly exaggerated or wrong in this video... yes... do I love my FNX45 .. yes. This is a bit of apple and oranges and a lot depends on individual use we are not all Seals....to say that FNH is not a respected historic manufacturer of outstanding firearms would be ludicrous . For 90% of pistol enthusiasts the FNX will serve us well. There are so many things to like about it including that which is solely personal like the aesthetics the look and feel..I feel sorry for those just starting to get into shooting and reading these type of reviews...these reviews find that guns are either seriously flawed or able to withstand the apocalypse.... well I own a Ram truck and I use it and I enjoy it..., now would a Mercedes Unimog do better in the apocalypse... well probably....I love my FNX the feel of it in my hands how it looks and how well I shoot it the rest is neurotic hair splitting.

I don’t have either one of those guns. Most of those differences are by design and not quality issues and not a big deal or at least most are not a big deal. You didn’t discuss other differences that are in favor of the FN, which makes it seem you are trying to bias us and NOT inform us. Should have discussed the price, the triggers and the FN is ambidextrous. All people I know or heard of have no function issues with the FN. The closest you got to price was to say the HK cost more for quality….well if that is why price is not a factor to you, then the Stacatto or CZ shadow is a far better gun the HK. The Glock is a cheap gun, I’m not a fan, but nobody disputes its reliability and is used by military and law enforcement and has a lot more in common with the FN than the HK. Like to see the HK in a mud test, generally really tight tolerance guns can’t handle water, mud and sand

You work for HK or something? First.....when you squeeze the mag well, you are gripping at the edge on the FN and further up on the HK, Not to mention you are obviously pressing harder. Second....the HK (to it's credit) has longer rear frame rails, so it won't show as much light through. Before anyone slams me, I have both firearms myself. I like them both.
