HK VP9 Too Big for Carry? Try The VP9 SK

The H&K VP9-SK, is very suited for EDC with its smaller size, yet still works just like the original full size version. Chambered in 9mm, this one has night sights and comes with three magazines. A negative is its high price, but at least it seems to be high quality.

I just traded off one of my VP9 full size models for a nice used VP9SK, I have been looking for a nice used one for a while and finally found someone who had one and was willing to trade for my VP9. Came with 4 mags and night sights and I couldn't be happier. This is going to be my every day carry and I can still use my holster from my full size VP9.

I just recently got me a P30 and now wanting the P30SK. Seen a used one at the shop and I had to take a double take👀. Literally came back a week later to get it in hand, and the damn thing was already gone. Guy said they typically dont get many used HK’s in and it shows, another guy that work there snatched it up.

Preferring hammer-fired pistols, I enjoy the very similar P30sk. Both have a reputation for being chunky, but with that added size (less than many make it out to be) you avoid some of the small gun problems that many sub- and microcompacts present (increased recoil, mag change difficulties, shortened sight radius, et al.).

I have small hands and I use it for carry and added the 15 round mags for home defense. Luckily I scooped up what seemed to be one of the last LE edition SK.

I handled one, it's a cozy ergonomic pistol. But it's also a total chunk for a flush 10 round compact. I think they could have went with a flush 12 round with the dimensions.

I have a VP9 and VP9sk. I’m probably going to sell the sk soon for the mag capacity alone...I threw a P365 XL grip on my P365 slide and it has a flush 12 rd mag that’s shorter than the VP9sk 10 rd flush. I wish HK would just take a week of engineering time to add 2 more rounds to it. CZ did it with their P10 sc? HK just hates us

Great review! I was able to get the "B" version with night sights. What an amazing pistol! My PPQ M1 has the paddle release. I like both versions.

I have the P30 SKS version. I really like it but what would you expect, it’s an H&K. That said I tend to carry my Walther P 99 more often than not. Both are outstanding handguns. Thanks for another excellent video and take care.

@FarWalker. I too have both and like both. I think the trigger in the P99 sub compact is a bit better. I think the P30 SK shoots a bit better for me. Both are in the carry rotation.

I am not able to EDC as I live in MD. I will be moving down to SC in a couple of years and have already designated 3 of my handguns that will be my EDC. These are my HK P30 V3, P30SK V1, and my Walther PPQ.

In my opinion, the SK is also too big. Even I have found my G26 too big to carry with a holster nowadays. We’re truly in a new era of carry guns. And I still dont have one..😔.. a new one that is😏

@@ResplendentRaider … since then Ive started occasionally carrying a 365 XL, but since forever I’ve never stopped carrying my OG Shield 9. The thing is, I’m about 30 pounds heavier since I used to appendix carry my 26gen4 all the time..sadly😔. And what’s worse is that my 26 will always be my ‘ol faithful
