I have really enjoyed all the rail journeys and wonderful . Many thanks for all the effort you put into making and editing these videos, it is really appreciated. Good to hear you will still be driving trains and filming your journeys; this is what makes KZbin worth watching. Your videos are fantastic adverts for and taking train rides, Greetings from France.

Через эти видео невозможно не полюбить Японию! Это красивая страна трудолюбивых людей! Привет из России!
I lived in Japan for two years. An interesting note most folks don't know is the number of times a Japanese train is late arriving or leaving is measured in months not days. In other words, the train system goes months at a time without a single occurrence of a train arriving or leaving late. When it does happen, it's usually due to an obstruction on the train tracks.

I do not think so, 2 years age, I accidentally went to new osaka station, I found 2 train were late by 4minutes, 1 was 15 minutes!

I know those making-sure-the-driver-is-alert-alarms are supposed to be attention-grabbing, but that harshness and volume seems like it would go beyond attention-getting and into the realm of fatigue-inducing.
@Nacimin3 жыл бұрын
the question is how comes all those alarms are needed. Maybe Japanese workers are overworked and need a constant stream of alarms to keep their attention at peak level?
@cyroiizaru10773 жыл бұрын
I think that's the ATS. other than serving as the dead-man-switch, it also gives warning if there's a problem ahead. The uploader commented below that there's a delayed train ahead.

I myself always check, double check and rationalise when at the job doing carpentry, circular saws etc.involved. Done this for 40 years plus, still have ten fingers! Verifying rationally with a fixed ritual really works and prevents mistakes, and not just with Japanese brains;-)
Why so many guys taking pictures with this train in Yoichi? They've never seen a train???
@OverseerMoti2 жыл бұрын
They are railfans, and taking train pictures is what they do. Not to mention most Japanese rolling stocks have better aesthetics than the rest of the world.

Столько суеты-что-то постоянно включает-выключает, ручки крутит, пальцем все время на что-то (на знаки) показывает. И постоянно сверяется с какой-то таблицей или схемой. Не хватает информации от знаков? И перчатки для чего? 😄

Indeed. I believe the train runs the driver more than him running the train.

It is a standard gesture for the train drivers. Usually they point to certain signals before reacting accordingly (example: slowing the train). While it takes a few extra seconds, the gesture is meant to ensure that no signals missed by the train driver, reducing the likelihood of accidents.

Is there anyone that can tell me what is that handle that seems to have a huge key attached, located in front of the driver and on the left of the brake handle, that the driver keeps operating around minute 15:08 ? Thank you very much!

Observing it for a while, it appears to engage the transmissions. He seems to disengage it when coasting and braking, but engages it again before taking power...

Can someone please explain all the motions that I see the train operator doing??? Please! I don't mean any disrespect, but I'm just very curious! Thank You!😉
@arielariesta73543 жыл бұрын
it called pointing and calling. As an example if you saw a signal ahead, you point at that signal and say it if it's clear, caution, or danger based on colour showed up at signal, also pointing at speedometer and calling how fast your train. Every country has different rules.

Why the hell is a mare driver sitting at the remote control in a mask when no one is around? Have you all gone crazy in Japan?
@deepdiver513 жыл бұрын
Because Japanese people are fastidious about wearing a mask if they have the slightest sniffle. They consider it rude and unsocial to pass on germs. It has always been that way and is not related to COVID.
@FSantoro912 жыл бұрын
Japanese people have been wearing masks in public for a long time, and usually wear them spontaneously when they've got cold or flu symptoms in order to protect others. A driver sneezing on the controls could very well be infecting several colleagues, for example.
