Yeah. you can still find them at some brick & mortar locations or used, but not common. it is great for small pieces.

@@cerberus2881the last SE-HL (485017) I saw on eBay a few months ago, was an unopened new old stock. It sold for - hold on to something sturdy - US$ 449. I’ve seen used ones go for 300. That’s about the same amount it used to cost to assemble the unit from spare parts in EKAT, but that possibility sort of ended when first the pendulum guard (200457) went out of stock, and it definitely ended when the scale ring (715167) went out of stock around 2020. Add to that that the angle stop WA-HL (485018) was dropped from the Festool catalog in 2022, and has become quite hard to find also, getting a complete setup can take some time.

Super clean chamfer! Believe it or not I've actually owned the HL 850 and bench unit/angle stop for over 10 years and have never once used it. This is good inspiration to finally explore the units possibilities! Thanks for sharing this.

I'm a decorator who does joinery repairs and this combination for site work has no equal. It can be dangerous though so always stay focussed!

Hi David...yes, you can get a stationary jointer for about the same cost or even less, but for portability and flexibility with different heads, it can make sense. If space is an issue, it can work for smaller pieces. It all depends on your needs. Thanks for watching and for your comments. Very much appreciated.

Unfortunately the bench unit was discontinued. There may be a few dealers out there who still have them or you might be able to cobble something together from parts through EKAT.

I guess so if thats all you have. But for 650 for the planer, then what 150 200 for the fence? You can buy a jointer for that much. To each his own i guess
