I hold no brief for Hlaudi, in fact I have no idea if the setting was appropriate for this speech. What I do want South Africans to be is consistent. Rewind to a about 3 weeks ago, Sipho Pityana, used a funeral to air his views and he was hailed as a hero. What is different here? Just asking.

agreed, a funeral should be treated as such, rising above them can be achieved by being ourselves, as currently the SABC was doing better with him and on its knees in 2022. the best version we can be is our selves- we can never be better than Americans by copying them, as they cant be better than us by copying us

I like the speech I just think that was inappropriate for this event. I think it is been disrespectful to take over events like this one to lash out people who do not even concern this occasion. This is someone's funeral/ memorial service and could have been treated as such.

isn't it funny how two different news houses can report one issue totally differently, the SABC's account says, and I quote "Hlaudi Motsoeneng pays tribute to Mandoza" close quote and on the other hand, the Times Live account says, and I quote "Hlaudi Motsoeneng 'hijacks' Mandoza's funeral to lash out at critics" close quote. I wonder what people think when they write stuff like this when the video itself is full proof of who is feeding the people nonsense and who reports news that is not biased? Disgracefull reporting from SABC, how is this paying tribute to Mandoza?
