Its shoes that specifically designed for dead people to wear for example they're really broght and glittery depending on the hmong tribe. They put them on dead people to wear into the afterlife. Thats as far as i know but the thing is i saw nuj nplhaib wear it in his movie to go save ntxawm from the tiger

Kevin Lin no the shoe nuj npliab wear was not a khau noog..he was wearing a shoe that chinese wore... in that scene the shoe was a chinese style shoe not a khau noog... hmong people will never wear a khau noog even if it's for a movie..the only generation would wear it, would be the younger 2nd generation, because they don't believe our ritual and custom...

+TousaoLOVER The bird shoe is this. Hmong people have this belief that when you died the shoe is to protect the dead feet as the dead will walk thru caterpillar/insects to reach his/her family. Kind of like the happy hunting ground which the Native American believe they will reach. We believe we will reach our ancestor. And so every person that died, we dress them in traditional hmong clothes and the bird shoe. But the traditional clothes are not quite the same as what you wear every day hmong clothes. The clothes are design usually 2 extra size bigger than the person who is wearing it. For example, the women's white skirt is always really big. So if you see a person that wears this type of clothing it is a sign. If is is someone you are with such as a girlfriend like this guy, is she was not dead, it is a bad omen. A shaman should be involved when this happened. But if you are walking or going somewhere and you see a person that dress this way, run the other direction because it is usally a ghost. The clothes is use so it is easier to put on a person that pass away as the person is now not so flexible and if you see this, the person is either a ghost or you encounter a vision that your girlfriend like this story maybe dead soon. Hopes this helps.

i disagree bout the part where they blame the bf for the dead of the gf and that he is to be responsible for the gf funeral. he will be responsible if she committ suicide becuz of him and or he kill her, but a person die of their self due to sickness...how the fuck in the world where did they get that rule or law to held him as to be responsible for that shit. its kinda exaggeration by the ppl that told the story to the story teller.
