I sharpened my driving skills in this car in 1997. I made my license on a Mahindra Commander courtesy the motor training school. The Contessa which I drove had such poor brakes which needed to be pumped. And me a novice at the wheel managed that on a uphill stop start at the Malad Times of India signal. And to imagine the hill assist feature in today's cars, people are so handicapped nowadays.

I had a Contessa Classic Isuzu Petrol which was a great car with 90 hp and awesome highway cruiser. I think Shyam got a shoddy deal with this particular car as the paint job is pretty bad - you can see spray paint on the driver door pad. Definitely not worth 3.6 lacs. The sound before turning the key must be the diesel heater plug. The petrol had also a Electronic fuel pump which made a clicking sound when the ignition was on. Great video Faisal bhai… ❤️💕

I have lots of memories with this car since i used to work for HM in mid 90s. This car was better with a petrol engine the diesel wasa bit noisy. The petrol had a better pickup then a diesel but good fuel ecinoly from the diesel. This was really a musclecar cause it was quite strong it was very conforrablr for long drives too. Great car where most the government used to have one in those days. Memoriea.

It wasn't a muscle car or a pony car. It was a 70s car. It's a muscle car look alike, but not a muscle car. Yeah it could be, if you put an engine that vomits 300+ HP, 0-100 in less than 8 secs, has a weight:power ratio of less than 10, maybe put some 16" wheels. Then we're cookin'. But she's gorgeous, she looks raw, mean and wild. I love Contessa. I pray one day, someone makes a modern generation Contessa just like they made the Mustang, Challenger, Charger and the Corvette. I would love a dirty fun car.
