I'm a huge HMHB fan. I live in Wallasey, 2 miles from Birkenhead and have liked them, not from their beginnings, but maybe from the early 90s. I was in work one day in about 2003, walked past the shop area of one of the places I go to in work. Saw a guy behind the counter, carried on walking, stopped, walked back, the guy behind the counter lifted his head in acknowledgment. I got star struck, it was Neil Crossley (yes, he has a normal job). Every time I see him in work, I get nervous with excitement.

They just get better and better don't they - musically and lyrically. And for all their wonderful wit and social satire, they have recently done some quite melancholy songs: Terminus, and Big Man Up Front, about mortality (yet still somehow beautiful).
