My favorite massage!! So many therapists neglect the QLs and deep low back work in general but oooooh it feels so so good!!
@Shinobi336 жыл бұрын
I'm always amazed at how you always seem to keep two hands on the body the whole time. And on your strokes you never pick up your forearms or elbows. Its one smooth motion from start to finish. Perfect continuity. That's the number one thing I try and mimic the most from your repertoire of skills.

Oh my! I'm a nurse who has hurt my back 3 or 4 times over 26 years of pulling on patients. I have severe low back pain all the time. Your technique looks amazing and I'm sure feels even better. I have fibromyalgia and am afraid I couldn't tolerate much pressure at all. My muscles scream in pain but are so tender I can't seem to tolerate much hands on pressure. GOOD JOB and explanation.

Thank you so much for your video. Im a new therapist struggling with moving too quickly during DT massage. I can't seem to stop this idea in my head that I'm hurting the client and/or that they don't like my massage. So I rush through the strokes! Isn't that crazy. 😣 I'm sure I'm shooting myself in the foot here. But other than asking the client if the pressure is okay constantly ( which I absolutely try not to do) can you please tell me some signs you can pick up on that the client is not enjoying themselves? I desperately.want my client to feel the best they possibly can and I worry my massages aren't good enough Thank you so much in advance and for all you do 🙏
@mamaT.1113 ай бұрын
Instead of asking “is this okay?” constantly, I learned to ask “How is my pressure in this area? Would you like more, less, or is this okay?” Hope that helps! Don’t overthink, I’m sure youre doing great!

I tried to drop to my knees to dig my elbow in the traps & quickly found out that there's very hard concrete under our carpet at work. 😂 ouch!!! I just do it while lunging instead. I'm trying to figure out how all these techniques work for me. Sometimes I can't do it the way you do, but find other ways that I'm comfortable while keeping my back straight. It takes work but I'm getting there. Thank you for the videos. I love the elbow in the traps technique, & I will try this one out next week!

When I was studying, I was also learning t'ai chi, and I found that the footwork and weight shifting helped with body movements that support the strokes. Also note that the couch is about mid-thigh height so that you don't have to lean in too much - it sounds like your couch may be too low.

Hii, my dad fell off a ladder 6 weeks ago and he is been having a lot of lower back pain he already made a lot of progress the fist weeks he couldn't even bend down and tie his shoes now he can do anything again but still in a lot of pain. I massaged him 2 times and hit some really painfull spots that feel super tight on his left side, thats also de side he fell on. How could i massage him so it doesn't hurt too much and still helps? I think using my elbow would be too much. It does help him he says, but the pain always comes back.
@kuriik11634 жыл бұрын
Try using lighter strokes and if your elbow is too much for him try your forearm.

I have been an instructor for 13 years, with 15 years of chronic pain management and rehabilitation under a physician. This video is not an accurate representation of deep tissue. Firstly, deep tissue is NOT performed with lotion as you can not drag myofasical tissue if lotion is present. This a Swedish massage with firm pressure. Please read your texts and do your research.
