HMNZS Canterbury Heads to Solomon Islands - 2024.

HMNZS Canterbury deployed to help with the Solomon island elections and possible training. I only know of the two NH90s that she is carrying and up armoured troop carriers, tractors and a few infantrymen from the NZ Army 16th field regiment I think I am not 100% sure on if its the 16th field regiment or the 2nd Engineer Regiment. All I know is there are two NH90s and a few heavy lifters like tractors and troop carriers

Where's the landing craft?

Scott, good question, I thought more enquiry about only one of two helicopters showing! I would guess that no beach landing exercises will be undertaking, just man power and the main wharf is only required for that. Cheers, Mike

Good Evening, Her landing craft are under maintenance at the moment and are due back shortly, we couldnt take them with us on CAN because of this but regardless, they wouldnt have proven useful to us at the time.

Daniel, no mention of numbers but they could easily be increased and accommodated onboard if the situation arouse! Mike
