Know where you are at when hiking, fishing or hunting. California has mountain lions, bears, and wolves. NC has black bears and small panters. If your state allows open carry, it better to have it on you when hiking and fishing. Hunting is always a must and hopefully you are carrying a higher caliber pistol or revolver plus a hunting/survival knife. And you have to be brave and not think of ghostly things while hunting. My grandfather is super brave, got lost numbers of time and slept in the woods multiple times. He over night hunts in Laos by himself all the time.
