Honestly, i feel ur parents are the ones to be blamed for. They didnt need to pay off their mortgage. They could of borrowed some money and continue to pay monthly. Or, they could have sold their property and live in an apartment. At least this is what they could’ve done to prevent dramas. Why? They are already getting sick and old..why need to pay off the mortgage? The house is going to be sold anyway. Right when the bro was about to move in, they should’ve told the bro to give u 40k since the title will be sign to them. Or, u guys should have written a contract between u and ur bro when the title was being sign over to him. Moreover, u guys should have speak up for ur money.
