My lovely grandson is on board, he's one of those on deck. We were chatting on the phone as they left. It was thrilling. They had a great time in Hamburg. Will be lovely to have him back home though x

Von einer NDR Seite (Hamburg Journal): Das Schiff war bis Sonnabend in Steinwerder gelegen. Es nimmt an einer NATO-Übung teil. Der Besuch soll auch ein Zeichen der engen Zusammenarbeit zwischen Deutschland und Großbritannien sein. Seit 13 Jahren war kein britischer Flugzeugträger mehr zu Gast im Hamburger Hafen. (Sorry NDR wegen Copy/Paste)

These ships are capable of 50+ fixed and rotary aircraft however David Cameron decided to spread the UK's procurement of F-35's over a greater number of years (as a cost cutting measure) making the whole point of having these ships in the first place baseless

They return to RAF Marham in Norfolk where they are based in the UK when they're not on board the carriers.
