John, your eye for detail and your skill really makes the difference between a "so-so" ship build and an outstanding work of art. Little details that are not part of the kit, such as the "thread" between the planks (to look like the sealing tar) and your lighting effects are wonderful. Keep up the outstanding videos!

@@JohnsWoodenShips I'm 76 now and don't travel well any more. Have you ever been to Spain? They have a number of the old saling ships there. Boston MA has "Old Ironsides" moored there, it, like HMS Victory are both in "saling shape". I use to trave the world consulting with major businesses and governments regarding Mainframe Computers. Building wooden Models keeps me off the Computer Keyboards (a little). Your English is very good, much better than my Greek. LoL I live 20 miles north of where California, Nevada and Arizona meet. @@The_Oldguy I have been in Spain back in 2009, i have visited Madrid , Toledo and Segovia. I would love to visit Spain again, beautiful country and good people. Never been to the States, i would love to do that at least ones in my life, but it is hard. Your summers are very close to ours the last years, we get around 111 - 119 degrees easily every summer. Don't worry about your Greek, after all it's one of the hardest languages in the world 🙂 I work all my life in service, i have 2 degrees in electronics, one for radio tv and one for computers and automation. Since 2009 i've been working as a service supervisor or service manager in various companies, like retail or service centers and now i have problems with my day job and i think that soon i will be without one... And the situation here is hard...

Merci 🇨🇦

Hi Normand!!! Thank you very much!!! I have used black cotton thread of 0,15mm between the planks, a pin to open the holes for the nails and a pencil to make them black. Then a couple of matt varnish coats and voila!!! :)

hey John, II was searching for the sails for hms victory 1:75, but i couldn't find any sails in this scale. and I noticed in your video #2 you did get sails. were they made by billing boats just for you or you managed to get them somewhere. the only sails i can find are 1:90 hms victory. real shame that there is no option for selecting sails as like you said 50% of work are sails. i wouldnt mind paying extra for the option to have sails as I always love sails on my models.

Hi! No i used paint brushes to paint it and i found out yesterday that there is another piece coming over this one so i didn't have to paint it at all... I will have to paint the other piece much much later.I did not planked it for 2 reasons, one it will be painted, and two there's a lot of stuff going over it.
