No matter what income you're on, it's always important to build your credit. Vong needs to start establishing his credit and not rely on others. This is something some hmong household lack in teaching their children/family members. But dang, I would not just focus on one car only. I'm sure there are other similar ones with better pricing and mileage. Definitely did not do his research.

By what she's saying about his current car, it seems like he hasn't been doing the proper service maintenance the car needed over the years. Can't let a problem wait. Fix it right away when something is wrong to keep it working. My 2002 Toyota Sequoia lasted me 20 yrs. No major issue, just normal maintenance.

He can own a car on disability. He just can't have more than 2. They're not doing anything illegal. He just have to report any changes financially. Like if he gets this car, he just need to let them know he got rid of the old one and financed this one.

If you don't buy scooters, pokemon and phone you can just set money aside to cash out a newer car with warranty from the dealership. Who's gonna know how much you have in the safe at home. No body needs to know. Buying a high mile car that's 10+ year old at a shady dealership is just a horrible decision.

These private pre-owned dealerships are shady and rip off if buyer don't know what they're dealing with. Feel bad. If young brother ask me for advice, I'd rather suggest go get loan from credit union to finance for lower APR and pass up on all the high rip off warranties. I would also suggest to look up offer up or private owner and better deal. But then, I can understand personal preferences and their financial status can play a big factor.

​@hmoobdaddy6804 doesn't mean he can't work at all. Even on SSI, he can work part time. Or even find full-time work that will accommodate his disability. It's just up to the person if they want to work. Of course he will make more money working. It could be due to family discouraging him to work bc of his disability or enables the disability behavior where he doesn't want to work. Could be many things but it doesn't look like it's a disability that will prevent him from physical work.
