I went to Ho Chi Minh City recently. After going there, I watched this video again. I found a lot of precious images and remembered good memory of Ho Chi Minh City and good Vietnamese Poeple. I want to go back to Vietnam again.

June 2, 2023 I am currently in Saigon. My expectations of this city is beyond met. The vibrancy, the food, and -- one of my favorite features of the city-- the green parks, make this city attractive and enjoyable. I definitely recommend this to my fellow Filipinos out there who want to experience the allure of SEA cities. I hope I can come back. 💪

just back from Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh feels like Chinese city in its developing stage years ago. the chaos, the buildings,the street food vibes,and the people. the modernism is emerging in this city, not as modern as its neighbour countries's capitals in the region yet like Bangkok,Jakarta,Singapore,or Kuala Lumpur but you can feel that maybe in the next decade Ho Chi Minh would get there. it still lacks of reliable public transportation tho but i noticed they are building metro line in city centre which is projected to be operated in 2020,which is good. the lacks of English signage remains as the weakness tho for tourists. almost all in Vietnamnese. Hanoi in the other hand, has the Vietnamnese vibe. not as modern as HCM, but i enjoyed Hanoi more. overall i think Ho Chi Minh can surpass Manila in the next few years. Manila is just a mess.

if you know the history well , before 1975 Saigon is one of the best city in Asia country , we just after Hongkong , and Tokyo , so after the northern communist party took over the South , and our country can't develop and also don't want to develop , because communist party only care about money and corruption , they just open the door to the world around 1990 and to do business with world , basically Vietnam is not a freedom country , its still under control by communist , i hope 2017 or 2018 , communist party will collapse , then we can compete with another country , we were better in the pasted and i believe , we still better in future , because vietnamese people is intelligent people , all we lack is the freedom to change thing , and we are still fighting for that everyday , and waiting for the day that communist party will collapse , so we can rebuild our country again .
@eit2257 жыл бұрын
van vo The advantage that Vietnam has is the goverment can rebuild the cities in the country with the proper urban planning after war. I know Saigon was famous back in the days before war took over. Hanoi remains very Vietnamnese eventhough there are several supertalls buildings maybe because its the capital of communist party/goverment,while HCM is more liberal etc. CMIIW. Well, nowadays i dont think Vietnam is still pure communist in ruling the country anymore. Goverment system is maybe still the same, but how they manage the country is already more open. Just like China years ago. China is one of the superpowers nowadays when they opened their country . Before, China was pretty much poor country. Similar to Vietnam now, before Vietnam was closed, anti-foreign policy etc, but now the economy is starting to boom because your goverment starts to open the country. Also, there is at least one advantage in communist country. The infrastructure projects can be done much much faster. They dont need to fight with the opposition party just to get the project agreement in the parliament, dont need to fear that citizens will do demonstration and kick their butt, dont need very long and exhausting process of land acquistion, etc. Thats why some projects in China or Vietnam if there is the money,it can be done so quickly. In the other hand, liberal-capitalist-democratic countries need to face those problems almost everyday. Projects got delayed, on hold, canceled, stand still, just because land acquisation takes years before the construction even begins, opposition party disagree, people got mad to the govt,etc. You have no idea how difficult it is to do land acquisation amd land clearing in those democratic countries. Citizens bully goverment as the citizens asked for mooooreee money if goverment wants to buy their lands for particular project. even squatters or illegal dwellings. Goverment can not just kick them away from the land, as the goverment will face human rights law and big protests. You have no idea. Everything has positive and negative sides. And i dont think the communist goverment in Vietnam will be collapsed anytime soon. And anyway, at least they're starting to be more open.
@vovanminh9997 жыл бұрын
tanza eve i totally agreed with u on some point but disagree on the others , i think u don't understand much about the communist , you have to live with them to understand them well like us , the economy is easy to change , if you live in the freedom country and if we win the education and we definitely win the economy , for instance , you can see south korean and north korean just like the South Vietnam and north Vietnam in the pasted , you know in the communist country even they open the door for the economy but they still have too many problems it selfs , most of the Vietnam leaders after they took over the South is stupid leaders because they are too old and uneducated people , or even they don't have any education , all they have is the gun and powers to control the country , they only care about money and theirs powers , when they did something wrong , people stand up against them , they put them in jail or killed them or harrassed their family's and their jobs ,and that what they did , so many talents and intelligence vietnamese people , they all ran way and contributed their talent to another country like Us or the west , because we can't do that in Vietnam , in Vietnam is only their family and children to run the country to this generation to another generation, how can the country develop when stupid people run the country and most of the talent and intelligent is unemployment or have to run to another country to contribute their talent for that country rather than their own country , sometimes i feel very sad for my country and my people , and right now i known one thing that , vietnamese can not stand with that unfair and stupidity of the communsit party anymore , we are not scare anymore and willing to sacrifice our lives just for the freedom of our country and our people , and that day will come soon , we feel sad because vietnamese people is very smart people but the country is ruined in the hand of the people , that never care about their country and their people , around 1964 , the first leader of Singapore , he came to Saigon and he wished Singapore is just equal to Saigon at that time , and now around 50 later , we even behind a country like Thailand , that's such shame for Vietnamese people , we just can't do anything good if the communist party is still there .
