Great diagram. I used one of your wiring diagrams years ago and it worked great. Thanks for this video. As an operator on this layout, I can say that the signals do add another level to the session. Really… brightens up the experience.

Thanks Mark. I don't know how to ban someone from commenting on my videos, but when I figure out you better watch those jokes...LOL

Very interesting signal concept. I'm glad that you mentioned that what you're doing isn't prototypical so it isn't confusing to those who are interested in applying prototypical signaling on their layout. Do you ever plan on making your signals prototypical and have you looked into L.C.C. to control your layout. No layout is too big or too small for basic signaling.- Jason

Hi Jason, thanks for the comment. To be honest, I have no plans to change the control of the signaling on the layout. To make up for limited size/space, I am trying to implement more features that are hands on and add extra time and interest to operating. As for prototypical operations, I think that it could be done in some form as I mentioned in the video, though by using the time-delay method I mentioned, I am able to allow operators to have more hands on with the signaling. I do switch over to the more prototypical block method when running alone sometimes as I typically will run 2 consists at once, but I find it easier for people who just like to operate trains and don't know as much about the more prototype side of things to have the time delay.

I might need to try that. Thanks for the info. Any way we can get a diagram of the IR connected to lights as well?

Yes I can make a diagram for you. It's really simple in both cases.
