हो रसिया! कस सुरति बिसारी।
ho rasiyā! kasa surati bisārī
(A Gopi is talking to Krishan in her thoughts, she says:) O cupid of my heart, lovesome Krishn! Why have You forgotten me?
लोक, वेद, कुल कानि आनि सब, तजि आई पिय शरण तिहारी।
loka, veda, kula kāni āni saba, taji āī piya śharaṇa tihārī
O beloved! I came to You leaving all the regard and the respect of the society, Vedas and the family behind me.
मग जोहत अँखियाँ पथराईं, हारी हेरि बिपिन बनवारी।
maga johata aṁkhiyāṁ patharāīṁ, hārī heri bipina banavārī
Looking to Your path, my eyes grew glazed, and looking for you in the jungles I exhausted myself, but I didn't find You.
तारे गिनत जात सब यामिनि, पलक एक युग सम लग भारी।
tāre ginata jāta saba yāmini, palaka eka yuga sama laga bhārī
The whole night I spend counting the stars, and a wink of Your separation becomes a yug for me.
निर्मोही ! कस मोहिं मोहि अब, तड़पावत बेपीर मुरारी।
nirmohi! kasa mohiṁ mohi aba, taṛapāvata bepīra murārī
O merciless stealer of my heart! You have enchanted me with Your love and now You are pining my heart without a thought. (Why are you doing this to me?)
जियन न देत, लेत नहि प्रानहुँ, दुहूँ भाँति अति विपति हमारी।
jiyana na deta, leta nahi prānahuṁ, duhūṁ bhāṁti ati vipati hamārī
(Do You know that the intensity of) Your sweet and painful longing neither lets me live nor lets me die. Both ways I am in a jam. (Now tell me what to do? And to who shall I relate the feelings of my heart?)
अब 'कृपालु' मो कहँ तजि माधव, कूबरि वरि निज करि उर धारी॥
aba 'kṛipālu' mo kahaṁ taji mādhava, kūbari vari, nija kari, ura dhārī
Leaving all of us, You (went to Mathura), wedded Kubja and made her Your sweetheart (I think that's why You have forgotten us).
