I have a couple of the old school Atlas/Kato RS-1 Models from the 70s/80s and they pull paint off the walls. Great quality by Atlas as always.

Hi I just scored an Atlas model of HH660 locomotive at a local hobby/train show. It is in Erie Railroad livery road number 304 it is used but in very fine condition the seller demonstrated it to me to prove that it ran properly and I ran it on my layout it runs just fine. I was very pleased to find out that the locomotive type was used at one time on a local short line railroad: The Buffalo Creek Railway also picked up a boxcar from another vendor at the show in Buffalo Creek livery so I have a nice little historical train to add to my collection.

Kinda hard to get excited about something that looks like a brick but, I like it!

Nice video! Along with your other videos. Atlas is the way to go in my opinion. I don't know if it's my luck but Atlas locomotives always run great, the slow speed operation is awesome. I have other models made by spectrum, Bachman, etc. my atlas locos are my favorite all around. A bit pricey but worth it. Best wishes happy railroading !

Good looking model. At first glance the lettering on the front of the locomotive looked like the Chevrolet bowtie embled to me, hah! Lots of fine details on this one

Actually there were two different HH600 designs. The ones that match the 660 are the later ones, naturally. The Atlas is not a model of the earlier 600s such as the 4 the Portland Terminal (1001-1004) had.

That's correct. There are some big differences between the early HH600s and the model. I'm currently backdating one of these to an IC 9000 series HH600.

👉 Erie Lackawanna logo on an Erie Alco ??? I don't think any of these made it to the 1960 merger with Delaware Lackawanna & Western.

Nice review. I wish you would give ratings or at least a stamp of approvals.

Hi Jim I moved away from critical reviews about five years ago. The method here is to let the viewers decide if they like what they see. Everyone has different requirements and attitudes about what's right for them, so I let you decide for yourself. If it helps, I would absolutely want one of these models if I were modeling early transition era. It runs great, sounds great, and would make an awesome addition as a yard switcher.
