You have built such an awesome layout in a pretty small space. The scenery is so dialed in that it makes everything seem bigger. I'm finally building my system and will use this for inspiration! I grew up in El Paso and this looks just like what I would see in the desert.
@modelrailroadingthesouthwest10 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for the compliment! Yeah the layout is in a small space. I’ve been toying with the idea of making it twice as big but I don’t know if I want to tear it down. I would do the same scenery but it would be prototypical of a couple places I have in mind. That’s cool man I’ve been to El Paso a couple of times for work. Looks of nice desert scenery out there. That’s cool I’m excited to see your progress on your layout if you’re willing to post videos on it. Happy to be an inspiration for your layout! Thanks man!

If you have the additional space you should go for it. I am limited to a similiar space at around 8 ' x 8'. I plan on usung 26" radii curves. My prior layout was 17 x 22 . So im mad i don't have more space but your layout gives me inspiration. Youve done a fantastic job in a small space. I also like how you compressed the individual scenes to their main elements. I like how you made such a small space look like a slice of a huge layout.

@modelrailroadingthesouthwest Some saguaro cactuses would be nice. Just roll the clay, score some lines, a few bird holes and some wire or toothpicks to hold the "arms" on. Done. Good luck if you want to add spines/stickers.

Looks great! I'm with you on vehicles and for me, I use a mix of brands in a 1/64-ish area. I made some 99-centcars look way better with Greenlight items. Like you,I found a mix of two scales Cars, pickups, and Suv/cross overs with 1/87 scale everything works well . For me little bigger scale is good decals and details don't break as easy between moving things around and my cats . The one thing I don't get about the Ho scale market is Modern buildings,locomotives , rolling stock, etc, but pre-1980-ish people and cars ... Then price don't get me started.
