Great battle between two experienced vets. Poppin C took up more space, traveled the floor, hit ground moves and low levels, mixed more styles and Popped hard through his whole rounds. His groove and dancing was on point. Hoan was great as well…but those grooves Hoan be doing look really awkward to be honest, he’s super clean but seems to wait for the beat kills instead of just letting go. Poppin C pulled the well deserved win he was super clean too. It’s easier to look “clean” when you stand in one spot the entire time. Taking chances like traveling, spins, turns, balancing on one leg with Pop and a Dimestop. Those are high level difficulty to execute! Try it! 🤣 Like I said both are great, Poppin C just showed more this day. I’m sure the next day Hoan could win. Anyone could win any day when you’re on this level.

You are the only dancer that speaks on their own videos and others because you are so humble lol. Umm if you love popping you wouldn't want it to disappear, which it is slowly and certainly. You are stuck in 80s popping. Much respect to the old school fellas but Acky and Slim among others even says the style has to evolve or like other styles it will disappear. Hoan is evolving the style and has been for 2 or 3 years since his military duty. C still looks exactly the same as he did in 2015 so no evolution and no excuses, he has been training with MT Pop, another man evolving the style with animation rather than bone breaking pops. Face it man, popping hard on the 1s and 2s and 2s and 4s is boring and outdated. I respected you back in the day but now you just seem bitter everyone isn't like you stuck in 1982. Fikshun showed you evolution and you showed him 80s popping. You got killed man. I hate Fikshun but it is proof of my point. Evolution is ANY style keeps it alive. Stuck in 80s rules it will go away because people are not attracted to stagnant anything. They enjoy progress. Look at D Soracki, EVOLUTION of everything. I hope you understand this is positive criticism. I don't call names, I don't harass, I am just a 46 year old choreographer not a fan boy of anyone, just being real with what I see and have seen for years. Hoan didn't pop on every little beat and C did, if that is how to win then how easy because it is very well known C watched videos of Hoan to learn those hard pops. He says it himself so really no disputing that. So Hoan could have easily done what C did but animation is a part of popping foundation which Hoan is mostly doing now. Slim has lost many battles for evolving popping with animation and other forms of hip hop yet he is by far most famous popper. Just more proof evolving the dance is how to keep it alive. Keeping any dance where it originated is death.

Hoan killed that 1st round imo but yes poppin c does hit harder but his moves were not as clean as hoans. Yes his waves and slow motion was clean but his dynamic moves were not as clean as hoan but hoan did use hard mobility in this battle so he should’ve won. Both reused moves in their rounds so that null. Poppin c used a lot of same concepts just in different order or different direction but man the guy hits hard and does have some slick moves

Hoan was being a bit repetitive but Popping C imo was just not quite into the music except for the first round I guess. Not my favorite battle but I vote for Hoan. Plus I feel a bit distracted when C kept clapping during Hoan’s last round.

Hoan easily won. I like both dancers a lot. I expected C to have gotten much better especially hanging with MT Pop and such but he looks like he did in 2017, no improvement really no evolution in his dance. Hoan is always evolving. This was not even close. Hoan won every round quite easily

I like both dancers. Both are 2 of my favorites to watch. I just thought this was bad judging. The problem with popping. Same reason Slim Boogie loses, Slim and Hoan play with beats while old school poppers refuse to evolve. C was really nice hitting those 2s and 4s haha. Hoan's musicality is insane. Both dancers are great but anyone with eyes, not a fanboy, being totally objective sees what this professional choreographer of 30 years sees... Hoan smoked C in this battle 2-1. I've see Poppin C beat Hoan fairly too. But this was terrible judging. I see bad judging in popping over any other hip hop style. POPPING HAS TO EVOLVE or it will go extinct.

My favourite clips of hoan are where he’s teaching a workshop and he’s demonstrating the pop. He always feels like he’s so inside the music in that environment. Even though he can battle there is no denying that I’ve always like him when he’s more composed. I also agree that the grooves he’s doing at times look slightly akward maybe unnatural. When he’s popping he has a nice groove. I agree poppin c took the win but like jrock said on a different day couloir very well have been Hoans day they are both incredible dancers well done too both

It was a very good battle and I saw the rounds even, I think Popin C could have taken it due to details, for me I use movements where I risk more like playing on 1 feet either sideways or turning, and there it was more safe in their movements, because the other items of musicality, creativity, cleanliness were even.

Hoan literally lost. He appeals to a more causal audience (this isnt bad) there are gaps in his style. He accents the weird unorthodox tones in songs really well but there is a lot less fluidity in his dance than Poppin C who is dancing the entire time but Hoan will wait around for a certain beat to hit. Hoan is great but he is not consistent. This is why in most judged battles against high level poppers he loses. He will get better though and when he does he will be unstoppable.

Popping C dances popping. Been there done that. Hoan on the other hand is developing a new style, with more depth, more groove, more logic. Notice how he didn't even bother reusing the moves he did against EunG(Feel the Funk 2022) on the same song during round 3. Had he used the same choreography this would've most likely been a win. When judging performances we should factor in previous events. This would lead to more innovation as it would give Hoan-tier talent more incentives to hone their craft instead of plateauing in comfort zones like most other elite popping dancers.

C has stronger foundation, he hits harder, he uses the space better around him and he was dancing more in the 1st round. I also think his moves are larger and require more control to do them cleanly

Sure his style changed a lot but Poppin C used to be in a crew with SamSam and Gypsy Pop (or Gipsy Pop) however his name is spelled. And Poppin C his style evolved over the years and Hoans style also evolved over the years too. If we want to be technical, Hoan got his style from his crew too it was called Winners Crew and Hoans style is basically inspired from J.One or Jay One however his name is spelled. Most these dancers get their style from their crew...even Hozin, he got his style from Popkun & Boogaloo Kin and he combined both those styles with more of a hip hop groove to it

Poppin C is born in 1992 Hoan started dancing in 2000 when popping C was still 8yo and nobody knew about him worldwide. What made Poppin C famous worldwide was the battle against Zyko and he did three Hoan's moves and one Kei's move. Hoan at that time was already famous and everybody knew about him, he one battle bad in 2014 in France and he murdered Salah who is a very famous dancer. As for Hoan being inspired by J One you're such an ignorant, Hoan started dancing waaaaaaaay before joining Winners crew, and he used to dance with Tutat, he joined Winners after he became famous. And Hozin has never been in the same crew with Popkun, Hozin has always been with Dynasty Diamondz with Kin and Real Marvellous with Jaygee, Tutat etc..

Even before he battled greenteck in 2012 he was well known popper which is kinda how he made it so far at UK bboy champs 2012 because by that time he was already at an elite level. Poppin C was already really good popper before 2012 and the earlier videos i've found of Hoan were about 2007 and back then Hoan hadn't been dancing that long. Hoan didn't start popping in 2000 that's a lie man. I seen all the popping battles and stuff back in 2000 and youtube wasn't even around then, Hoan and most of asia didn't even know what popping was back then. There wasn't that many asian poppers back then except for like Acky and some other OG's. Hoan definitely was not popping in 2000. He probably only started just before 2007 and Poppin C had been popping around then too. So you've contradicted yourself a lot. Hoans style he has now is the style he basically learn from Jay One...and you can clearly see hoans older style was completely different. Jay one had been dancing longer than hoan and taught hoan. I think what you should've said is winners crew hadn't formed at that time, but Jay one still taught hoan before they formed the crew together. Just because the crew hadn't actually formed it doesn't mean hoan didn't have teachers. He learn from Jay One
