Great job! Two things to consider are 1) it's hard to give kids a bath in a glass enclosed bathtub and harder to clean, and 2) counter space is more valuable than a big sink in the bathroom.

About that high-end feeling, it reminds of a piece of renovation advice I heard lately: a big area covered by the same neutral colour makes the space high-end. It echos the situation here very well. Very good job!

Pool appeared salvageable? I can see it already had pebblestone which lasts decades so an acid wash ora resurface of 8k-10k would have made it whole again. Not to mention, a new pool is at least 50k in that area so would increase the overall value by preserving it. The original stone on the front fascade and fireplace was the soul character of the home and I would have built upon that classic look, with a west elm or classic Beverly Hills style play. Plus those real stones are much more expensive than porcelain tile. Just my honest 2 cents. Good effort though and keep it up!

Everything looks so smooth and pretty 😊 The only thing about that bathroom sink is, you lose a lot of counter space. If it was two sinks/faucets sharing the same drain, that'd be cool! But it's still beautiful nontheless!

At 10:58 - You're expression makes me think you are not in complete agreement that LED bathroom mirror lights have gone out of style on the higher end flips. Also I really love the front door with frosted glass that allows more natural light into the home.

Textured walls are a builders dirty little secret to save money and labor. It is not so much “high end” to have smooth walls but rather “cheap” to have textured walls. We don’t see that here in the NE. Smooth walls are the norm.

Surprised to see Tom go all out for once, normally he's cutting costs 😂 I'm unsure about the stove and the sink being directly across from each other, I think I've read in Feng Shui stuff it's bad, but I love the wall color and other improvements he made to freshen the space up.
@maryjennings49132 жыл бұрын
I'm not a believer in Feng Shui. My take on that is that I would rather have my stove, and sink as close together as possible. That way I can take the least amount of steps possible, in order to dump a heavy, boiling pot of potatoes, or pasta in the colander, in the sink. It's a safety issue, for me.
@xzmrquanzx2 жыл бұрын

The downside is that it’s inconvenient to have two people work simultaneously.
@lilspiderlily2 жыл бұрын
@@olivel8858 I thought of that too. If someone is cooking and another is doing something at the sink, then they'll be butt to butt 😂 then there's very little space for people to pass through between them
@omarghosn86552 жыл бұрын
I never understand why these open kitchens are so popular...the fridge is in the living room, and the kitchen has to be spotless otherwise you will see the mess in your main living area. And all the clanking of dishes/cooking will be heard while someone is sitting trying to relax in the living room

I agree. The open kitchen concept especially with the bathroom next door is a bad idea.

I have the sink in the second bathroom in my main bathroom. I don't like it! The drawers constantly stick and the sink doesn't have enough of a dip in it so all the water goes down. It pools around the drain.

In pretty much all the east coast walls are smooth. Very rare to see textured walls. The tile in the bathroom for me is a no no. Makes it look like a gas station, sorry to be blunt. I know the channel is about flipping and making money on houses, but it seems to me that the flip is about using the cheapest materials. It blows my mind that this little house is that much money.

New front looks bland and sterile. Electricity will NEVER replace a real wood-burning fireplace. They did a nice job - the place didn't look like a horder lived there - it looked like a pack of drug addicts! $1.4 million for a piece of complete trash! Keep wondering why none of these flippers provide any counter space or medicine cabinets or towel racks in the bathrooms! But nice work otherwise.
