I have gone back and watched your blogs from 2-3years ago when you wouldn't even show your face. You have come so far not only in your decluttering but in your personal growth. You are so much more confident now. You have been a positive influence on hoarders but also on non hoarders who just need some encouragement and direction. Your approach is so much more reasonable and do able. Bless you and your whole decluttering family. I am grateful everyday that I found your channel. Keep going, I need you to keep on the straight and narrow.

For your question of what you would like to see the next few videos: I have been waiting at least 3 years for it ---- Craft supplies in the laundry room!!!!! lol My wife she checks in on me every week when I take my "me" time in to watch your videos and she hears me talk about it. My 8 year old son literally thinks I know you because I update him "hey Hoarder's heart decluttered her older son's room, wanna watch?" He watched him give away toys and it was a total moment for us. Lol. I just lost my dad in December and I am a 28 year old mom of 2 boys. You are my saving grace some days. Literally a ray of freakin sunshine in my very cloudy days. Thank you!

My “projects” are I need to use up older fertilizer, purge a few plants that decided to die, fertilize plants, water a few plants, pot up a few cuttings, add a few good recipes into the recipe binders, wash windows, dust, steam clean the carpet. Oh, and the eternal pile of laundry to put away. I don’t add much stuff to the house, although there’s usually a donation pile which isn’t big enough to donate yet hanging around. So there’s nothing really to organize, more just trying to put energy into maintaining the house vs hobbies. Only 1 item in the pantry went past date because I never got around to trying a recipe, half the buttermilk needs tossing because the amount I needed was less than a half gallon but more than the smaller quantity bottle (I greatly dislike tossing food but 2 items in a few months isn’t terrible). But hey, I dug a brick out of the ground today that wasn’t where it belongs, a few items that were out got put back where they belong, 1 plant got planted, dishes got done (need to spray counters still), I’m prepping a craft project for Friday in case the weather forces me to adjust my schedule (sit at a library vs come home when I take someone to a medical appointment…I’m not driving on icy roads any more than absolutely necessary). I need to wrap stuff for a baby shower on the weekend still.

I have been working through my toiletries the past couple months. I find I over-buy things like soap, shampoo, and face/skincare products with the justification that I will definitely, eventually, use them, but it just leads to a totally cluttered bathroom. It seems like a fun, inexpensive treat from Whole Foods, but then I have to put it somewhere. I put a ban on bar soap, face wash, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, and toothpaste that is in effect until I'm literally on the last of each item. Same for food (including tea and supplements); I have batch cooked a couple things and then parsed them into single serve repurposed jam jars and I will not buy ingredients for totally new meals until it is all gone, only ingredients that the current batch frozen meals need as I work through them. My fridge is already so much cleaner and I'm hoping to avoid over-stuffing the cabinets with exotic items I only use once. I am also doing FAR better on my grocery budget compared to the same time last month. It is always the budget that spins out of control in the first few days because you can always justify groceries! :P

You have progressed so far. That closet held up over years, the as I remembered when you decluttered it before. I used to have overflow linens especially for guests. I put the bulky pillows and blanks in vacuum saver bags and it saved SO MUCH shelf space, and made it easy to store on upper shelves of the closet. So happy you could donate the linens and also sometimes the animal hospitals and wildlife rehabs can take and use the expired medications. Great work. Keep up the inspiring content!👍😊

@o0Theresa0o2 жыл бұрын
It looks absolutely beautiful! And it was way, way easier this time around! One of the smartest organization strategies I've come up with has been trying to make my space conform to my habits, and not the other way around. If I have a habit of dropping my stuff at the door, then that's the space I need to change to make it functional for me to drop my stuff there. So, I bought a hall tree for my front entryway that serves as a functional dumping ground - it keeps it contained to that space. Like you, I used to keep all my toiletries in the hall closet, but I am very much an out-of-sight, out-of-mind type. I wasn't using any of my products, and I'd have to just purge it all years later. So, I got an over-the-toilet shelving unit and put all my products in baskets so that I could access them straight from the bath/shower. I am actually using my stuff now. With that said, I would consider what you find functional... are you less likely to use your bath products because by the time you're in the bath, they are too far away? Consider installing shelves in the bathroom or something so that your bath products are within reach. Make your surroundings work for you instead of working for your surroundings.

Once I find out what our new baby will be, I hope to declutter some of my son's baby items. This baby will be the opposite season for everything, so even if we have another boy there is no way we need all of the things we have. It's so hard to do, because like you, we have struggled a lot to grow our family.
