Seeing that stick handle made me wonder if I could use a big log for a handle. Mainly the log would put lots of down pressure while I spin the spindle by hand. Because In winter I'd have a hard time making cordage.

Bobby Harper yeah,, can work, but, you probably have lots of strings on you, / with you, i have a leather belt i can cut a string from, and i have a t-shirt on me, i can cut a string from, and my winter jacket have, 3 nylon cords who is a part of it and its the sme with my back back, it also have 3 nyon cords,, i can pull out and use, i have a tarp in my back pack i can cut stripse from and use, and so on,,,,

Tack för tipset! ska ut imorgon en sväng och testa lite. var längesen jag gjorde upp eld med bowdrill så jag är lite ringrostig. Jag brukade alltid ha lyckat resultat med Tall rakt igenom men vill prova lite andra träslag nu. Ha en fin sommar !
