I love flying at that time of the day and you had a perfect evening for it. What I love abut this plane is that in the twenty five years of flying I have in I have flown everything from competition gliders. To jets. Scale aircraft and fun fly stuff as well as 3D. This is my current fun plane and edges very close to my favorite plane of all time. I have only flown my brothers and have flown it quite a bit but I love it so much I finally bought one and it gets here Thursday. I think I'm more excited to get this plane than virtually any plane I Have ever owned. I recommend it to anyone that asks about a good first plane and if it survives them getting past the learning curve, its one they will enjoy for years. I didn't mean to sound like a commercial, but its just been such a cool plane. No bad habits and just one you look forward to flying every day.

Great video, super smooth flying and landings. I’ve watched quite a few videos of the Tundra now but this is the only one I’ve seen on floats. I always find it cool to see planes on floats. Great videos, thanks for sharing.

Thanks! I’ll have video of the V2 on floats soon!

Great Video and thanks for posting. I watched it before reading the description and was quite surprised to learn you weren't using the water rudder as it appeared to handled the turns quite well without it. However, as you pointed out, with a sniffer wind and probably a rougher surface, the water rudder probably would be necessary. I'll soon know.
@JohnVHRC8 жыл бұрын
+Sean K Kelly Thanks! I think if there was more wind it may be needed, or get more rudder through. I was thinking last night that maybe a reversible esc would be helpful.

This has to be one of the top ten (maybe five) clean and clear videos of any RC plane I've seen. It's so crisp, you are making me rethink my new PZ Sport Cub with floats.

So cool .. have you flown the v2 yet ? Also do you notice much difference in power carrying the floats vs wheels ?

I have, and I have videos of it, there will be a little change as there is more weight and drag, but still has plenty of power.

Great flying with a great plane. Questions...Was the first takeoff sharp turn caused by torque or did you do that? How easy is it to change from wheels to floats and vice-versa? Does it change COG? Would you recommend this as a trainer and would it be helpful to put a flight controller in it for newbies?
@JohnVHRC8 жыл бұрын
Thanks, the sharp turn was because I was not using the water rudder, they do change the CG, but not a lot, I would not say this is a trainer plane
@jerryel28 жыл бұрын
+JohnVH541 Thanks for the reply. Hobby King suggests it is okay for newbies but without a flight controller with gyro I doubt that. It would be a great model to put that Hobby Zone SAFE® Plus in it if possible. It looks like it has plenty of room inside. Even "X-Jet" likes it and he's hard to please.

I have the parkzone sportcub, and have the floats as well. It flies similar to the tundra, but I believe the tundra flies better and out classes the sportcub. I've probably got 50 some odd flights on mine, and some of them didn't end well (wind gusts & poles, tall grass, etc.) Foam glue works wonders...... Anyway for a replacement I've been looking at the tundra for quite a while, and you make it look awsome. You should work for Hobby King as a pilot. Good job.

Hey John I'm considering buying this plane in the near future and was wondering what receiver you're using, spektrum 6 channel?
@JohnVHRC8 жыл бұрын
+DeucesWild Yeah, just a standard 6 channel will work fine. I think I actually have a big 9 channel in mine, just because thats all I had laying around, haha. This plane is so much better than that horizon knock off!

RC Model reviews says there is quite the hand full when using the "flaps". nose up problems. Did you notice any bad tendencies? Thanks
@JohnVHRC8 жыл бұрын
+Mike “Desert Hunter” Hale thats his fault, he chooses not to mix the elevator with the flaps to cure the pitching up at speed, mine is docile and NOT a handful at all. Why not do a little mix to make it fly easier?
@MikeDesertHunterHale8 жыл бұрын
your absolutely correct, I like to listen to him, but he makes things harder than they are... Thanks...
