Hi mate, I bought a savage x 4.6 off eBay recently and come to realise I’d been seen off. I removed the engine and it was completely full of rust etc, air leaks galore. I opted to replace it with a force 28. It is a brand new engine, I have put brand new flywheel bell gear and 3 shoe clutch on and fitted it back in the truck, used paper to mesh the gears and for some reason it will not start. I have returned all needles back to factory setting as stated on the leaflet it came with in the box. I have fitted a brand new glow plug from HPI and glow starter is fully charged. Everything is literally brand new. What is going on? Please help!

If you are trying to start the 4.6 check for compression but if you are trying to start the force 28 (if it's new) try charging your glow starter

It’s the force 28, it’s a brand new engine. The 4.6 I have called scrap as I can see it’s been poorly maintained and full of rust etc. In the force 28 I’ve put in HPIs R5 plug, I’m now wondering if perhaps it’s just too cold of a plug for that size block, hence why I’m having starting issues, I know the glow starter is fully charged. As I pull the starter, I can hear it trying to start, it has fuel etc, ocassionally it will blip slightly, I just can’t get it to idle, it’s a brand new engine ? Could plug temperature cause an engine to not start at all?

Yeah try hotter spark or lean it a bit

@@gavinshort37 try turn trim up a bit to get it going as when it's rich for break in it's very hard for the engine the idle. It can need 1/8-1/4 throttle to start it

I had the Force .28 engine from new in my savage which I used a OS 8 g/plug in with no issues, would recommend using a engine head warmer & have wheels off ground & open idle screw up slightly more then 1mm gap & it should start easy! Good Luck 👍🏻

i’m not sure how much you’re willing to spend or if you want another car but I thought it would be so awesome if you got a traxxas revo 3.3. Also love you vids and can’t wait for the next.

So I’ve got a question. Recently my Rc10gt has been losing compression when it gets hot and I’m thinking I should get a new sleeve and piston since the engine just seems to be worn out. I was wondering if any .15 sleeve and piston would fit the .15 engine on my car?

No you need the correct one, they are engine specific
