I put a lot of thought into coming up with this one. It had to be stupidly simple, cheap and easy to make. It works quite well, hope you like it and please leave me a comment in the section below!

I’ve actually knocked up a hobo shower myself, quite a while ago now, the best thing about using a black bag is that if it’s left hanging in the sun for a while the water gets quite warm. These camping showers can be bought now and they’re very lightweight too. Bike packing is my thing and I can usually find a nice stream to sit in and clean up, in summer of course. All of these ablution type tasks need solutions, washing clothes, drying them? Going to the toilet even? Can all be problematic when you’re outdoors and on the move , stopping only to camp at night. Cooking, washing up, keeping dry, keeping warm. Preventing sunburn, map reading, all have problems to solve and many different solutions. I enjoy your tips, your vids are good too. Thank you.

yeh, thanks. now I don't have an excuse for coming home from the woods without showering. with all the gadgets I have learned to make and use on this channel, I no longer go camping, I go glamping. It is a blast to make these objects and use them. it is soothing to my soul. a big thanks. we need a WayPoint Survival Camping Rendevous. where everybody uses gadgets demonstrated on this channel and some of their own inventions. maybe a few workshops. it would be a hobo rendezvous. sounds like a whole lot of fun to me.

Cool idea. I like the water bottle top trick. I used to do something similar when I lived and worked on the road off of my motorcycle and while out on long hikes. I would just put some water in the trash bag, tie the wings together, let it lay in the sun for a bit to warm up, tie a noose of cordage underneath the knot, hang it from a tree limb then just cut a corner with my electrician snips just enough to get a trickle of water going. The rest was technique to minimize my water usage. For starters I would wear a pair of cheap flip flops which for me are a must to keep my feet from getting muddy or stepping on sharp stuff, I would get wet, then fold the cut corner a few rolls and clip it with one of those black metal heavy duty paper clips to stop the water, put a bare minimum of shampoo in my hair and work it in then unclip the corner and rinse that out. Then wet up my rag and soap, clip the corner again and soap up. Unclip, rinse and I would also keep a water bottle with a squirt top handy just to finish rinsing all the naughty bits. Those trash bags work good for doing laundry as well. Add clothes, detergent and water. Tie it off and let it set in the sun for awhile. Massage the bag to agitate, let set for a bit more in the sun, dump the water, wring the clothes out by hand then add fresh water, repeating to rinse then wring them out again and hang from trees to dry. If you can find a cardboard box that you can line with the trash bag to make a basin out of that is even better. Fun stuff. Keep them coming and have fun.

As someone who has a van fitted for living in a better idea is to get a pressure sprayer or the battery operated sprayers like they sell for spraying weeds then you can just clamp the sprayer in the open position and hang it on the back door. There are so many creative ways to do it.

You don't have to be a hobo to appreciate this design. It can be used on the trail or in a semi-permanent camp, and it's packable; all the components together (even the stone) would weigh less than a pound. Well done, Mr. Bender. You must have a LOT of time on your hands LOL!!

another brilliant invention by the hobo chieftain,i call my mother and her kin "tribal eldars!"as the storys she still tells me of how she survived as a child are astonishing, how my grandad who was a scots guard desert rat was shot in the back many times escaping from a panzer in the deserts of egypt after there tank broke down and buried himself in the sand with a cloth and a straw to breath through,he crawled to alexandria where he was in hospital for five years till the war ended, how women in factorys would bind there fingers back on with cobwebs after accidents ,they were so poor they would boil fish bones thrown away from the factorys ,this kept them alive, people moan when there internet is slow!its time some of us remember true values !i believe almost all your viewers are very cool people who hold these things dear!WAYPOINT ARMY!BLESS!XXX,all this information will be lost ,its heartbreaking! I really love your videos because even if somebody is not a hobo or camping it’s a bit of getting people to think outside of commonality to be creative. This is exactly what young people should be playing with experimenting with to be able to build that better mousetrap. Learning to be creative takes some amount of guidance. I know the scouts aren’t very popular but I really think there should be more organizations that can exist with spirits in adventure and inventiveness

The ability to take showers and to get cleaned can not be denied as essential to good hygiene. And this is so much cheaper than buying a commercial unit. Makes me think it might I could make the bag at home and to cut it to make a smaller version and maybe double layered. With some wax paper or brown paper and an iron it can be done.

That would be interesting. I don't live anywhere near saltwater so I would have to make some before I could do a video like that.

Solar still will desalinate perfectly. It takes a while (all day or longer depending on how much fresh water you want, and the temperature/humidity of the day) but it's simple and foolproof.

@@WayPointSurvival Really? Kabar used to make ones just like it, but I guess that isn’t a unique style for back then. Still, stacked leather handles, and a good patina on a proper steel blade. Way better than all the plastic stuff nowadays.
