Wow, this is one blood bath of a movie that's actually pretty awesome, even better is this song which was originally the ending theme for the Raccoons, one of my favourite cartoons as a kid. How funny it is that this song is now tied to both an innocent cartoon and an extremely violent movie. :D

The creator of the movie, Jason Eisner, has a huge thing for the original cartoon and actually sites it as an inspiration for this movie. Someway somehow he got this from an environmentalist cartoon from the 80 s and personally, I think we're all better people because of it.

Funny you should say that; There is actually a Raccoons fanfic called "Bert's Rampage" out there where Bert, crushed by Lisa's news she's still with her old BF, loses it. His friends are unsympathetic, mocking him and laughing at him. The final straw is them playing loud death metal after he all but cries himself to sleep, waking him up resulting in him snapping and pulling out an AK-47... Well, it goes south from there! I remember watching the ending of Hobo with a shotgun and hearing this song and thinking "Wait… wasn't there a cartoon about racoons from the 80's I used to watch at 6 AM before school that used to play this song over the credits?" and having the weirdest feeling when I realized it was the case. Truly a special song if it can work equally well in both a kid's cartoon and a slasher film.

Yeah I get the impression that the director made the extra effort to weave in as much 80's canadiana as possible. I heard a rumor that in the original draft of Hobo with a Shotgun, the hobo was actually the reincarnated spirit of the Littlest Hobo, which is actually not too weird considering where the Littlest Hobo canon went on some episodes.

I saw hobo recently and then had to watch it again the next day because it was so awesome. Love the late 80s early 90s style, kind of robocop meets pulp dusk til dawn with a sprinkling of braindead style violence. The tune was just a cherry on top! Let's see more 80s cartoon themes combined with mindless modern b movies!

I loved this movie. When I heard this song at the end, I laughed my ass off because this was the theme song to a cartoon from Canada called "The Raccoons". They used to run it on the Disney Channel. But this song seems to fit better with this movie more than the cartoon!

I had no idea this song ever appeared in a film! I had an OLLLD bootleg VHS of random cartoons from Disney or something, and only a piece an episode of "Raccoons" showed up on the tape, and I distinctly remember hearing the credits theme to the cartoon, and I don't think I've ever heard anything so epic or beautiful from a Saturday morning cartoon before. Still to this day, nothing matches up. It's ridiculously catchy, beautiful, BITCHEN 80s feel, and gives me goosebumps when I hear it nearly years later. It almost seems a little too good for the cartoon, considering. Because I remember the cartoon was kind of meh. I want Dynatron to remix it! xD
