Hobonichi Cousin Flip - A journal in progress

That's it! For 2023 I'm getting the Hobonichi Cousin. I've been using a Happy Planner for the last three years and there just isn't enough room, don't like the rings, and the paper does not take wet medium well at all. And even with the wet medium, the paper doesn't have that lovely crinkly sound. Your journals are always an inspiration.

I know I'm coming back to a super old one but this inspires me so much. I'm sad that the 2025 hobonichi paper is inconsistent but I've done this style of work in comp books and other planners.

This is a very random question, what is the clear plastic you use at 0:57 and 1:22? This is the first video of yours I've ever seen, and I love the clear, double-sided art you add to your journal, and I was thinking of trying that for my poetry journals

This is acetate / clear transparency, I get my collage sheets printed onto this at my local office supply store. It creates the layers of colour without taking up my writing space, I also use it to overlay over more private journalling. Hope that helps, thanks for stopping by xx

What a fun and colorful journal! So much fun to look back on. Question: I noticed that there were some weeks that were blank. I have those too. I’m wondering if you will just leave them black or will you go back and do anything to those pages? I always struggle with that in my own journals.

I have gone back and forward with this so often, and I think I will just move forward, I don’t want guilt of the unfinished to cloud the experience of keeping a journal. I love it too much to taint that.

Do you print your designs out on clear sheets? Do you have a video/ blog on how to do that?

I get my collage sheets printed at an office supply store both on normal paper and clear transparency, if they offered clear sticker paper I’d do that too, but sadly they only have white sticker paper! I take my collage sheets on a usb flash drive and just hand it to them and ask for them to print them full size on both mediums. My collage sheets are high Res files in both pdf and png files full a4 sheets of paper. Hope this helps xx
