I didn't go with a cousin for this year, but I did get both an english and japanese weeks and i am in LOVE with the changes they made for the english weeks. Same thing here, with the different back info pages, but there's also slightly more memo pages and one of the info pages is a "favorite things" spread that seems like such a fun way to use your planner with the people in your life. Great video, thanks for comparing!

I prefer the English version. Ditto for the A6, from which I'm switching to the Cousin. I'm undecided about what to do with the My 100 page because I like to write down the name of the author as well as the book and I don't have small enough handwriting. Any other suggestions would be welcome.

For 2023, I decided against the Cousin, but it’s still very interesting to see the side by side comparison. The one thing I don‘t understand about both the A6 Techo and the Cousin is the weird spacing of the timelines on the daily pages. As for the rest of the changes, they don’t really matter to me either way. Having no Japanese holidays marked in the English Cousin is nice, though. Thanks a lot for the walkthrough! 💙

It’s so nice to see this side by side. I’m glad I got the Japanese version. I prefer that one in every way except the lack of the 365 days tracker in the back.

Thank you for this, it was super handy in helping me pick a planner. I like the English version but I'm glad they didn't get rid of all the Japanese. The quotes are the only thing that might bother me, but I'm thinking of getting some stickers or maybe putting a tracker down there if I can find a sticker one I like.

Thank you so much for the side by side!! I want to get the English version just because it doesn't have the Japanese holidays, as that could confuse me. But it's reassuring to know the differences are minimal, unlike the Original vs Planner differences!

I don’t think they put any holidays in English version so it is less country specific

I think the My 100 in the Japanese version is small because Japanese characters are smaller than the English alphabet.

I guess the people who are used to US planners (I'm not sure about other countries) are used to the shaded weekends (like in the Happy Planner) and Hobonichi got some feedback about that. IMO, I'm okay with just those numbers being shaded but 🤷. If I didn't like embellishing my pages I would pick the English version so that I can use the pages in the back, especially when certain sections that are in both versions are easier not write on in the English one (like the top 100). The quotes are neutral to me; I cover them most of the time when I was using the Cousin. If I'm going to use the A5, then it would be the Avec so this is a moot point for me. Hopefully they'll have a hybrid in the future for the back pages (nix some of them for some of the English ones or something, but that'll probably won't happen. Thanks for this informative comparison video, Mandy!
