Thank you Maike! Your way of journaling is so nice! I am trying to incorporate drawings into my journals but can't say it's successful enough. I'm glad to hear that you found the video inspiring. The blank page can be very intimidating that's for sure. I always find it helpful to start small. Find a subject matter that is less intimidating (for example I find objects around the house less intimidating to draw than say humans). Or maybe you'd enjoy a book that shows you how to draw simple doodles step by step... I can recommend 'How To Draw Almost Every Day' by Kamo. Her doodles are simple, yet very charming.

I like the balance of color and words and doodles, because myself, I usually don't have too much to say and would not like looking back at walls of text in a sketchbook or journal. So the pop of color is perfect!

Thank you for your kind words. It's so rewarding to find the right balance of images, text and/or art. I know that I have sketchbooks that I didn't consider to be journals, but when I go back through them, I remember when I drew the sketches, what the context was etc.

I 💗your decoration recipes and seeing what items you pair with your own art. Lately I feel I've over indulged in my magpie/crow tendencies (impulsive purchasing) and brought home whatever shiny treasures have taken my fancy but your videos are encouraging me to have a stationery konmari fest. Ultimately, I'd like to curate my collection & cull the excess or subpar supplies make room for new acquisitions. I also need to resume the habit of creating wishlists to thoughtfully consider the role a new item will play amongst what I already have before rushing to purchase.

There's so much beautiful and cute stationery out there that it is hard to resist sometimes. And I have noticed for myself that it takes a bit of trial and error to figure out what stationery items I actually enjoy using. For example I see so many really cute character-based washi tapes, but in my spreads I prefer using patterned or textured washi tapes. I'd rather have the characters in sticker format. I hope your stationery konmari fest brings you clarity and more enjoyment with the things that actually spark joy :)

Glad you enjoyed the video, Maggie! The label on my February 4th page is actually from a washi tape by the designer Meow Illustration. That would be a gorgeous fountain pen ink though- I'd buy that in a heart beat.

Ah, thank you so much! I’ll have to check those out. I’m still looking for that perfect brown…my endless quest! 😉 I mostly use Sailor’s Kitsune Biyori but want to try a couple of the browns that I saw you swatch. Thank you for sharing so much with us! ❤
