Received JP50PRO last week from indiegogo and opened it up today. Beautiful unit. I reached out to ICECO regarding a rattle when the compressor kicks on, like a fan blade hitting the plastic vent. Probably loose component or not installed exactly right. Quite annoying but probably a simple fix. I live 30 minutes from ICECO HQ so hopefully we can get it resolved. Otherwise, it works well. Wheels and pull handle are great. Multi directional door is clever. When rattle is addressed, perfect device. 7/3 ICECO responded and instructed me to visit their office/warehouse for replacement after the holiday. Can't ask for more than that. Except for the loud rattle the JP50PRO works well and looks like a high quality product. Rattle issue should be resolved by end of week. Update: Swapped rattle unit for a fresh one at ICECO warehouse. Super courteous support. Cause was a thicker foam insert pushing fan into plastic vent grate. New unit is super quiet and performing well for over a week. Hobotech has the best information and Tom's work is appreciated. He seems to genuinely enjoy doing the reviews. Best wishes.

Nice review, as usual! I wish others would do the quality content that you provide! I like the fridge, but honestly, I purchased the change more that you reviewed and I found it life “changing”! I purchased the battery and I am “more” than happy with it. Our absorption RV fridge is acting up, and the change more is what we’ve been using. I’ve even taken it to Disney world in my car. And when we have to wait for our room to be ready, we have no worries about our food spoiling! I also plan on keeping it grill side for the summer and look forward to having cold beer without running to the store and changing the ice every day!

@4philipp
@4philipp 2 жыл бұрын
@@johnnycash3755 well, temperature matters. I have been running it in freezer mode at -4°F. Ambient temperature is between 72° and 80°F. It’s loaded with 28 pint sized water bottles. Once it’s at temperature (internal) and all contents are frozen solid, it draws between 27 and 31 watts. At that rate, the included battery lasts about 6 hours. I have been running it off my EcoFlow Delta (1300) which have a effective usable capacity of 1000 watts - it’s 750 wh in 24h or 1000 wh in 32 hours which is the EcoFlows max. Soooo, reducing it to the included battery capacity, 6 hours of freezer time holds true. If you test this at 65°F you will get longer performance and if you test it at 90°, you will get less (I have tested neither) . The solar panel is or looks like really nice quality. I have not tested it. It’s 90 watts. If I assume average of 50% performance, aka 45 watt over 5 hours, then it will power the LionCooler for 5 hours and perhaps put 75 watt into the battery. However, between a charged battery and the solar panel I doubt I will get 12 hours in freezer mode with ambient temperatures around 80°F. If you use it in conjunction with a solar generator like my EcoFlow Delta (1300), and max that unit out with 400 watts of solar, then you can run the freezer indefinitely if you can collect at least 800 watts for charging on a daily basis. I have not tested the unit in fridge mode, because I only intent to use it as a freezer. I’m expecting the LionCooler Mini 28L from the most recent campaign soon. That unit I will be running as a fridge only.

Have the ICECO 12v ref/frezz and love it. Also have the blue eddy eb150. Can you tell me if the new 9BB 200w solar panels can be used with the EB150? Docs say for solar charging it is a max of 10amps. The new panels (BougRV) say the short circuit is 12.2A. Will the built in MPPT charger in the EB150 just take the max of 10 and all is good or will it damage the EB150 if you use that panel? Thanks in advance would really appreciate an answer:)

About month later got replacement which worked fine while plugged in to AC, but on 12V didn't make it trough the one day (the same problem). Still having headache from dealing with horrible customer service because they wasn't in the rush to contact me back even they scheduled the call, exchanged more than 50 emails and after 3 months from my purchase I got refund. After that I found out other customers had similar problems and only good reviews for those fridges are from paid reviewers.

Your thermometer is not compatible to the iceco cooler. The factory uses a thermistor that’s calibrated to the control board. It’s seems the thermometer that you are using seems close to the temperature that’s displayed. Analog and digital thermostat are always out of calibration. As a refrigerant tech. You measure food product temperature to be true temperature. My recommendation try a Taylor Commericial digital panel mount thermometer. You can place the temperature probe any where inside the iceco with out opening the lid which when you open and close the lid you are basically introducing warm room temperature air inside which takes time to remove warm air inside the fridge. The less you open the lid the best you can get a close accurate temperature. Luv ur videos. 👍🏻

I purchased the previous version, the JP50, a couple of years ago in part based on your review. I haven't had much opportunity to use it, but I like it. One minor gripe is the insulated bag they provide. If the intent is to help keep the unit cool, I don't understand why they made it black, which is the most heat absorbent color. i've been trying to find hingest like this. Have googled bidirectional hinge and it leads me to the type of hinge for a swinging door. Does anyone have a link to these hinges, or even a proper name for how to google and find some?

Thanks , I see the 250wh portable power station, It looks like it would work on the VL45, not sure of the math but in normal temps running it as a fridge how long would this last?

Can DC fridges be left turned off for long periods of time or do you pretty much have to keep them running most the time like an AC fridge? In other words, can you stash one in your home unplugged for months then plug into your battery once you have a power outage?

Does it look like the handles can be taken off the fridge? I don’t think it will fit in the back of my Jeep with them on.

Ready to order but the guy over the phone said that there was no more Magnetic external batteries for this unit... Is this so? The rep seemed to be reading from a book???? I explained Hobo-Dude said that there were Magnet ext. Batteries. I also took him to his web page where it shows the Magn Battery attaching via Mag to the Frig. He then said they dont sell those any longer adding that the ext. Battery last for 8 hours and the built in battery the same.. Been a few months since this video and I would like to buy this unit now...Is there a better product than this JP Pro 50 His quote with extra battery (non magnetic) was $900 w/free shipping for U.S Your or thoughts from anyone??? Thanks
