Fun fact: This is the only fight in the game where the boss retreats when number of his men decrease. Balxephon just bolts it when his numbers are 5 or less. Also Hobyrim and Balxephon II at 0:42 has to be one of my favorite conversations in the game. Double kill in this one is surprisingly not unique in any way. Its same as oz dying first. As always if you're interested in this type of content I recommend you to subscribe. Cheers.

Some trivial fun stuffs to add here. Balxephon derived from Baal-zephon, Canaanite Storm God. In pantheon, He was like Zeus, and also likely the proto model of YHVH, the Christian God. And Haborym is synonymous with Satan in LaVey's Satanism. Symbolically, Balxephon vs Haborym is like God vs Satan. Does that remind anyone of Xenogears?

3:41 Balxephon mentions the blood stains on Denam's "blade." 3:53 Denam tells Balxephon to not speak of the stains on his "shield." Clever way of showing how Denam justifies what he's done as purely defensive measures. I love the writing in this game.

A use of a Shakesperian conceit. Excellent. Truly, truly excellent. This game's dialogue is so masterfully written.

Balxephon is such an intriguing character. He is dishonorable, but at the same time extremely logical. If they ever had another entry in the franchise that shows what happened with him, Lanselot Tartaros, and Volaq then there is no doubt he would play an important role.

Yes, I hope we see another installment at some point as well. A comment about Volaq though... the man is pretty much still alive because of his loyalty. He knows how to pick winners and knows where his bread is buttered. He's nowhere near as capable as Lanselot or Balxephon, and he may even be aware of that. He's not necessarily INcapable, but he's nowhere near as savvy as his fellow survivors. In the end, he came off as "just happy to be here" after the three of them flee Valeria. Additionally, I think Balxephon is in some more ways more ruthless than Lanselot. Balxephon murdered his parents and blinded his brother. Lanselot has shown that he prefers to kill only when necessary, such as when he spares Vyce's life in Chapter 3C. You can argue that Balxephon is straight up evil, but Lanselot's nature is a bit more complex and gray. Still though, they're both intriguing characters.

I always wondered if Balxephon actually believed he was being merciful. Blinding Oberym, and then going out of the way to get engaged to his ex-fiance implied Balxephon has a grudge. Also is interesting that Oz is aware of the whole Rahms family betrayal plot. It implies that despite his craziness, Lanselot actually trusts him more than he trusts Ozma

I'd say it's quite possible Oz himself is responsible for Hobyrim's torturing, since that seems to be his role within Loslorien.

"For who can deceive others who cannot deceive himself" I'm a little lost on the implications of this line. Is he saying that only someone that can deceive themselves deceive others or that only someone sure of themselves with no doubts can do so?
@Burak_C Жыл бұрын
He is saying basically, A man who can lie to himself can also lie very good to others. He is kind of insulting him. When denam says stuff like I fight for my people or I fight to defend not conquer, Balxephon is saying that all these are lies Denam is telling himself to clear Denam's own concise. He is basically saying you are fooling yourself if you don't think you fight for your own gain. Mocking him for hiding his selfishness with sweet lies.

@@Burak_C Ahhh that makes it more clear thanks! So that is why he continues on to talk about how one shouldn't shed tears for the fallen. He is saying that one shouldn't try to justify one's actions as just to soothe guilt and regret, and that one should just accept the loses as an inevitable outcome of conquest. I love it!

Hi. I have a request I am curious about. Would it be possible to get all death dialogue similar to getting all desertion dialogue? IIRC there are some interesting things even beasts say.
@Burak_C Жыл бұрын
Thanks thats on my bucket list. Issue is unique characters death quotes actually change depending on where you are in the story (mostly by chapter). And generics and beastlikes have a huge pool of death quotes. They are not listed anywhere either so trail and error is my only way to go. So the video is gonna take a long time to make. Im quite busy irl too. I can only ask for your patience for now. But know that the video will certainly coming. Cheers :)

Okay so I'm not going to demand that you also have the Japanese audio, because it seems like it was a lot of work to get all this stuff ONCE, and also that'd be rude; but a) if you ever feel like going through this but with the Japanese audio instead, I would like to hear that, and b) might you happen to know by any chance if there's another hero like you but who gets the Japanese audio of dialogues? (I can't play the game myself, for multiple reasons, all of which take too long to explain; and I happened to imprint on the Japanese audio so the English voices just sounds "wrong" to me.)
@Burak_C Жыл бұрын
Sadly i can barely find time to make new videos let alone re-record for Japanese. Sorry. Japanese tactics ogre community is way larger than the western one we have here so I'm guessing they probably have someone who does videos like me. Good luck on your search.
