Went from using 1s and 2s pro and even a mach for a summer. Moved on to hyperlite and it has been great for me.

Need to review those old wooden goalie sticks, so heavy and so strong. Northland was a go to for me.

600 -> 580 -> 590 Since you asked @1:25 I went from a 600 break to a 580 and loved it for the most part. It caught so much better than the 600, but I couldn’t help but feel like I was missing the extra glove surface area that I had with the 600. I ended up trying a 590 pro palm and loved it. Catches well, easy to close despite the extra padding, and it made my stick handling grip so much better. I’m a 590 convert now. With reference to social media influence, I’ve tried more than one Trav4Oilers recommendation and did not find any of them to be quite as perfect as he makes them sound. (The supremacy of the 580 being one of them)

My biggest issue with influencers is they always push what they prefer. I love 600s, but I am not going to tell everyone to get into a 600. You can basically track questions/trends with gear and follow the path down to what influencer is pushing it now.

People rave about the 580. I try it on and it’s awkward. Don’t know that I could ever get used it. It’s got to close natural for me and be very broken in

I had a set of Vaughn V3's for 12 years and loved them. I'm not sure what the glove break was, but it worked well for me. This spring, I got a set of Vaughn V9's with a 600 break glove (the Pro Carbon XP), and that glove has hurt my thumb so much that it always hurts now. I'm not going to get rid of it because I like having the whole set, and I have no money for a new one. Also, I'm moving to England in January and want to take my goalie gear with me.

You sure your XP is a 600 break glove? Vaughn designated the XP versions to be 60 degree (590) during the V9 era.

I was told 600 break, but you might be right. It's a different break from my V3 glove. But I can close the V9 glove better.

590 to 580 to 600 to 590 590 is my favourite by far. My 600 have the internals cracked since I played it so much. My 580 has a practice palm so it’s not a fair comparison tbh. All are great, gloves have come a long way. I just can’t justify playing any non-lefevre glove if I’m trying to play well

Getting a custom ultrasonic glove build but nervous about breaking it in because apparently lot of people break it in wrong any tips on how to break it in and keep its closure

I had a bauer reactor 6000 that I have no idea what the break was, and I couldn't even catch a cold with that thing. It was the most unnatural and awkward glove I've ever used, everything just popped out. Next was a x5pro that I used for a bit and it felt really natural catching with, but the seal on the ice covering pucks was horrible. Now I'm using a eflex 6 with a 580 break and I absolutely love it. Feels great catching the puck, playing the puck, and the seal is great. Trying gloves on in store i find the 580/590 gloves feel the best on my hand l, and as somebody who played a ton of baseball growing up i don't get how the 600 is most ofter compared to a baseball glove.

Baseball gloves are broken in individually by the user so their shape is very dependent on how they close the glove. My catcher glove was a different closure than my infielder glove, which was a different closure to my outfield and first base glove. So the baseball glove comparison never made any sense.

@@HockeyReviewsfirst baseman’s mitt might be a good comparable to a 600. I’m still rocking a tps that I love but it’s going to completely fall apart. I want something newer that feels natural. Every glove I try on feels uncomfortable

True (Lefevre) has been the gold standard for years. Bauer has certainly caught up but I still think they have some work to do. Great review

How does Bauer compare to Warrior in terms of hand size fit? Loved my Warrior glove as I felt it fit my hand a bit more comfortably as my hands aren't massive

I find my Warrior gloves to be looser feeling... but have no issues with any other brand so I am afraid my comparison here might not help you for that.

I had a warrior ritual glove 600 and that was my favorite glove , more surface area, and easy closure. I went to 3x glove and the middle park when you close it broke. The curve snapped. I feel 590 arnt my thing ,some days it feels perfect like a 600 and then other days its awful feel like I can't catch anything. I like the 600 for the further reach aspect and bigger presenting surface area and deeper pocket depending on brand of course. Never tried a 580 but every glove I have seen seems very narrow up and down which is great for hands forward up and down facing the puck. I know 580 is the craze and people swear by it right now , I'd like to try it but don't want to spend money and not like it. Wish there was a demo set to try out for a few shinnies. Does just hockey have demo sets ? Great review been watching you for a long time and you help with me make decisions on equipment before purchasing! I'm stuck between warrior, ccm, true, bauer 600 glove how would you rank them 1-4 in protection and closure Thanks a bunch !!

Some have demo's for $100, credited if you buy something. Anyone own a LHS, get a demo of everything, and NEVER sell them. Rent for ~$50/weekend or something.

Nice in depth review. On a different topic. Can the Warrior G7 catcher palms work in the G6? Can't find any of the G6's for sale.
