Good basic set - I've noticed lately that some people don't care much for static stretching in favor of a dynamic movement routine. My gut tells me they both have their place.

+Chris Jackson Exactly! a mix of both is a great place to start.

From my days as a competitive swimmer (for 17-18 years, I returned to hockey after about 13 years) Static stretching does have its place but its much more useful for building flexibility and the strength of your smaller muscles. Ballistic Stretching is more useful for pre-event routines to 'warm-up' your muscles. I was taught by people far more knowledgeable than me to do more ballistic stretching before max or high performance activities and more static stretching before practicing. Though like they said above both have their place and should be done before every event.

Whenever I played hockey and did MMA, I always did static stretching and was never hurt. Then I joined the army and we were told never static stretch and I spent the next 14 years always hurting after workouts.

All these pegs talking about how stretching is lame are the same dude's whinging about being sore 36 hours later. Nothing wrong about physically feeling good on the ice.

Great video. As a Canadian watching referring to it as “Ice Hockey” repetitively is like torture though 😂

can you do a tutorial on hand positioning on a stick, because I feel that it's very important for stick handling. I just realized mine got better after I shifted my hands a bit.

Good video. Some new stretches to add to the arsenal should really really help.

Isn't dynamic stretching way better for you than static stretching before a game/workout?

Okey, hockey tutorial. I like your videos but the information you are sharing here is not optimal. Fact: Your performance will decrease if you do static stretching before a practice/game. Dynamic stretching you be done before, but static stretching should be done after a game/practice. Just wanted to share this with everyone, no hate.
