The tape could mess with the performance a little. Next time spray paint em black. Let them tape the blade
@HockeyTutorialOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Barely added weight to the stick (roughly 68grams and this includes the tape normally on your stick blade and Buttend). Painting them isn’t a good idea. It ruins the stick, removes the grip coating (which means adding paint and more tape for grip) paint comes off in your gloves and lots of other issues including multiple layers of paint required to totally hide branding and logos. It’s also difficult to find out how much weight you are adding with paint. With the tape, we could weigh it and remove the cover up at the end for the big reveal. This was a better option.
@aaronmaxim5 жыл бұрын
@@HockeyTutorialOfficial they're both fine options. Maybe the tape could have possibly messed with the kick point / flexibility little bit right? The tape grip is different from the grip on the stick right? You could have used both options but for the sake of what you're doing and the reveal the tape is fine. Just saying adding anything to a stick could make some sort of difference not significant enough for the sake of the video. Easiest answer " yes that's another possible way"

@@HockeyTutorialOfficial if you can feel the difference in weight with just nob and blade tape then the entire stick being tapped is going to be a major difference in the feel. Interested to see another one with some minimal painting to cover the logos and see if there is a difference in reaction.

It’s funny to see how brits talk about hockey. Also no offence but they’re not that good, they true do these skills to look cool but let’s be honest this is what 10 year olds do, they’re stick handling and skating (in all fairness they weren’t trying to show off skating speed) was painfully slow. The one thing I like about they’re play is NO ONE uses the back handed which is a great shot for quick elevation and unpredictably. I always used my backhand cause my slap shot is shit and my wrister until recently also sucked

I would like to see the Hockey Players Club (www.hockeyplayersclub.com) XV3 vs Bauer Nexus 1N (or 2N) sticks, the claim is that HPC's sticks are made in the same factories as the "big name" manufacturers, also HPC's is mid kick which would put it in the Nexus realm
@ohainickify5 жыл бұрын
Joshua Halsell HPC has lied about the specs on their sticks and are NOT the same as “top tier elite level sticks” as they claim for half the price - i’ve actually caught them photoshopping their ads showing 18k carbon blades while when you go to purchase they actually are a less durable/heavier 3k/6k carbon weave and at the price you pay you are actually getting the same if not worse product than the big name retailers at that price point. It’s all marketing gimmicks - So far I believe there are only a few actual “small” brands that use the same specs as what you would get in a $300 stick - and the main thing to look for is 18k carbon (the big checkerboard squares you’ll see on such as Bauer sticks). As you go up in quality and durability of the carbon weave the squares get bigger. The cheapest sticks don’t even have a weave because they are mostly graphite/fiberglass blend, then you’ll get tiny square weaves with 3k, and then bigger and bigger and so forth with 6k, 8k, 12k, all the way up until 18k which is the highest ANY company has ever used. Nobody has ever gone higher than 18k. HPC is a fraud and a rip off for the quality at the price, and as of this so far I believe there are probably less than 5 companies that use 18k, two I know for sure absolute are Plainville Hockey out of Pennsylvania that make complete blank sticks with no graphics and the new No Name Hockey 2019 models have been shown to actually use top tier specs - everyone else (All Black, PAMA, Panther, etc) does not specify what kind of carbon and what quality they use (because they use inferior products on purpose but market them as better) and they do this for a reason. As of right now the Panther stick - Senior is $200. I can buy a Bauer Supreme 1S Senior for $170 and I guarantee the two sticks will not be the same and you’re getting ripped off by these “marketing gurus” trying to make money off the fact that you don’t understand how hockey stick manufacturing works.
