This is such a treasure! Thank you for posting. I hope more and more writers find their way to this video.

Thank you for the kind words about the show. This program featured writers from our very first public reading, and we're very proud of it. There are many more editions of "The Writing Life" featuring Lucille Clifton, and many more poets and writers. If you want to know about our public reading series, please check our web site, listed in the header to our channel, to find upcoming events. All the best, HoCoPoLitSo.

I am reading (the part of) Carolyn is "I Teach Out of Love" tonight at ACT. What an honor. To quote Ayesha below- "I like Carolyn Kizer's poems and I like how she read her poems too." I am appreciative of the honor.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this show -- it's one of the earliest videos we have of Lucille Clifton -- she was so vibrant. We have other shows featuring Mrs. Clifton, and they're wonderful. If you enjoyed it, think of making a donation to support our programs, both live and taped. Our web address is listed in the program notes. Thank you.

I wish they had a better camera person. I want to see Lucille Clifton's full face.

Dear Mary, yes, this was in 1984, and we were rudimentary in our production skills, though we were high on our choice of poets! Thanks for watching.
