If you have noticed that the number that Allison gives back to Max is slightly different when Max gave it to Allison. Dani is a kid who will believe in anything and Max is older and stopped believing in anything. That is why he lights the candle proving to Dani that if nothing happens witches are not real. The witches could have used the potion on one of the kids that was outside there home instead of going after Dani

Not even instead of. If they had simply been thinking they could have grabbed the youngest one of the group available. Took her life and given themselves more time to brew more potion then go after them.

In Salem,witches were hanged not burned. Actually burning of witches only occurred in Europe.

I mean, he's way outnumbered by the bullies. when there were just two he might have had a chance IF he knows how to fight but he probably doesn't. when they took the candy there were like six of them. Who's going to see sis safely home when he's been beat half to death by six guys lol

So a few things, I liked that you noticed the same as I did when i watched the film was how each sister has a power to help snag children Sarah has a siren voice that hypnotizes and lures children in Mary has a nose that can sniff out and hunt down children and Winifred has the magic to drain their life force 2. Winifred turned to done because she touched Hollowed ground, her blowing up was due to the candles magic dissipating 3. The reason the witches didn’t snag one of the other kids instead, and went after Danny and the others was because Winifreds’ greatest weakness is her vanity it’s the reason she and her sisters sold their soul to the devil for their power, it’s why they drain the life force of children, to keep them young and healthy When Danny insulted Winnie, her vanity and pettiness would not allow her to let her get away with it, and she wouldn’t;t accept anyone but Danny being their first victim It’s her weakness and character flaw, and ends up being her undoing.

I was a studio page from 98-2000. I worked on the last season of Veronica's Closet. I got to talk to Kathy Najimy on a few occasions. Kathy, played, Mary Sanderson on this film. I also worked with Doug Jones on a film back in 2016. Doug was Billy Butcherson.The zombie. Kathy and Doug were so charming, humble and so down to earth.

Actually a wizard uses sheer knowledge like what they've learned from spellbooks and such. A warlock draws their power from demons and rituals

they did a sequel after 30 years. had the original witches back too. not great honestly but worth it to see a disney movie make one of their main songs in a kids movie be a version of Elton John's "The Bitch is Back"

I live about an hour south of Salem. I've been a lot of times. I finally got to go see Max's house. It is down by the water, and I just never got there until this year. I always loved Salem. My Daughter's many Great GGG....etc Grandfather was acquitted there as of witchcraft.

Great reaction! Yes, the sequel is worth watching! To celebrate its 25th anniversary, a book was published which was the first film in novel format and a sequel. It follows Poppy, the daughter of Max and Allison, who accidentally summoned the Sanderson sisters back and this time they possess her parents along with Dani. Sarah Jessica Parker was said to had an ancestor named Esther Elwell, one of the women accused of being a witch during the Salem Witch Trials. After a young girl said she saw Esther’s “spectre” strangling neighbor Mary Fitch, Elwell was arrested, but escaped going to trial. If you loved Thora Birch, Dani, I recommend Monkey Trouble and Alaska; it’s about a girl and a kleptomaniac monkey. For Kathy Najimy, I recommend Sister Act and Sister Act 2 with Whoopi Goldberg and Maggie Smith. For Bette Midler, I must recommend The First Wives Club, Drowning Mona, and Oliver and Company. For Sarah Jessica Parker, I recommend Footloose, Mars Attack, The First Wives Club, Failure To Launch, Did Hear About The Morgans, and I Don’t Know Ho She Does It. 💚❤️💜📖👁🕯🧪🐈‍⬛🎃

Witch comes from old English wicce/a (etymology) its linked the word for willow based on its flexibility and its also linked to wisdom hence "wit". So its origins witchcraft is the craft if wisdom and shaping. The church would twist this later. The hebrew for witch (machashef) and pharmakeia (where we get our word for pharmacy) is a complex link. Wizard means wise one in terms of etymology Witch itself is unisex though linked often to women as the old English would distinguish the gender with wicce and wicca. Warlock is reclaimed but is most likely found in Scottish etymology for an oath breaker. Some link it with old norse for spirit caller/singer

This is the ultimate guilty pleasure halloween movie. You can tell everyone had so much fun making it. And to answer your guys question about why the witches were hung instead of burnt, that was how they executed accused witches in Great Britain and in New England. Witch burnings only happened on the European mainland (especially in France and Germany).

I never did understand why binks didn't just speak to the parents when Danny said he could talk. I mean that's the kind of thing you can't fake very well especially back then.

What do you mean what happened to Emily in the beginning I don't think you guys understand the concept of this movie. It started in the 16th century that little girl has long been dead The Witches took her youth. You had to have seen it you watch the movie did you really should give yourself a history lesson and look up the Salem witch trials understand about the century and what happened to the women
