"When they're no words in my mind, my mind sings." - I like that
@Gmol110 жыл бұрын
This is my attempt of translation for those who don't want to wait: I had a Zen master for 5 years in Mexico, I believe he's the only honest person, well almost only, I've met 5 other honest persons in my life. He arrived in Mexico because a truck left him there. He changed my life. My movie "The Mole" (El Topo) was influenced by him. So every time i'm here I remember him. He told me a story about a Zen master that had to give a speech and when he arrived, before he started a bird sings and he silently listened to it. When the bird finished singing, he said "This was my speech" and he left. Isn't there a bird singing around here so I can leave? Well, it looks like i'm going to have to sing. I asked myself what's this story? What does the bird say? The bird doesn't say anything, it sings naturally, so i'll sing. I'm singing right now. How could I sing right now? How could you sing right now? Firstly, when the dark clouds of the words are gone with the wind, in your silence the soul sings. Word are in the intellect, when there are no words in my mind, my mind sings, when there are no negative feelings in my heart, my heart sings, when there are no distressed feelings in my sex, my sex sings, when in my body like now isn't doing useless actions, my body sings. I'm mind, heart, sex, body and soul. The soul sings when its free, when it doesnt have name, age, nationality, definitions. Well, thats a bird that sings or a soul that sings. My mind, to know more because everything is constantly changing. My heart wants to pertain more, be attached to the reality, my sex wants to create more, to create is to give. And my body wants to live more. I think the joy of the bird that sings is that it feels alive. When the bird is in the tree, its in the tree! If its not in the tree is nowhere. When you're here, you're completly here, you're here not anywhere else. So here I see minds with no limits, hearts with no criticism, creative sexs and bodies that knows how to not do useless things. The most useless things in our lives are hope and fear. "I want something that I dont have", "I'm afraid of losing what I have". Sitting here with no hopes and fears, we're good. What's God? What's God today? Is money, yes, as old gods like Jehovah, Christ, Mahoma, God has many names. The money's God also has many names, Dollar, Yen, Pound but its the same, its the need to survive in our society which is technical, but the joy of the bird isn't money or technicism however without money and technicism there's no joy. So life is like a river, without money and hopes you have to jump in the river. Work to get money but not to have things but to develop your spirit, to get only the necessary amount, decrease the fear that makes us being too ambicious, decrease the hope that makes us believe that what we have is so useful. Think that money is a divinity that you have to share, if I have it and you don't then I don't have it, if I don't share my food then I don't eat it. If I shut myself i'm not living, I have to open to the love. The goal in my life has to be the goal of life, every person that shuts themselves are destroying the planet, to shut in an age, nationality, prejudgements, fake old ideas is destrying the planet. What else? Thats it. You see, i'm not a master, if I was a master i'd make you levitate and I would have a missing arm, I wouldn't be like you like this (11:38), i'd be like this (11:41). Why? Because the first Dharma disciple, cut off his arm to make his master listen to him, so Zen was transmitted by a person that had a missing arm. I'd still thinking in cutting off my arms and legs and if I got my head cut off, it would fall with a smile. Thats how I understand Zen. Arigatou. Well...
