I saw them just a few months ago in Germany - for maybe the 5th or 6th time in my life, more than any other band. It was once again a great concert. Mick Rogers is 77 (!) and Manfred even 83 (!!!) years old. But the vocals, the music, the performance and their energy are as great as ever.

I was lucky enough to see Manfred Mann's Earth Band play the original 1977 version of this at Birmingham UK, I loved it then and I still love this version now. The band members may have changed , but the band lives on.

The Midnight Special version is my get up and go juice in the mornings. Also it’s my backroads late night drive jam, I tend to speed up and slow down with the feel of the song. This band was before my time, but this gem has survived!!!! Up high🤘✋🙏

Noel McCalla as the lead singer, wow. I saw him at a gig many decades ago and he was fab. Glad to know he is still kicking it, even though this gig was 1999. I also did some wiring work at Manfred Mann's studio in London years ago as well and hope he is still doing his stuff now.

This is a proper legendary tune tho.. My nan gave me a tape machine that my uncle Jo gave her to send back recorded messages to her..
