Just ordered this rifle, in Sweden its about 2817 USD, really hope its worth it. Its one of the very few semiautomatic high powered rifles allowed on a rifle license for hunting purposes (one can buy a semiautomatic AR15 on a sporting license but that is a much more complicated qualification process). I will use this rifle for target practice and hunting for moose and hogs. Mostly target practice and future security in Sweden's oncoming ethnoreligious civil war.... :/

I own one these and I love it. I use it for deer hunting here in Maine. The thick and mountainous terrain in the Eustis area is tough hunting. I am always moving through that crap. I need a quick shot off and this gun is there to deliver. It comes up onto target quickly and is fairly light. It shoots pretty accurately too. I was about 1 1/4 inch groups at 75 yards. That’s great for an 18 inch semi automatic rifle.

I have the Mk3 with the wooden stock in 300WM and it is a sweet shooting gun. We don't have hogs up here in the NW but for moose, bear or really anything up here it's the perfect combo of form and function. Not to mention it looks bee-yutiful. Almost too purty to take in the woods :) And it has less kick than my bolt action 300 so it's a lot easier to shoot overall. Only 3 rounds in the mag and one in the hole, but with a 300 if you need more than four shots you need to practice more before you go out. But... you can also carry an extra mag and pop it in place if need be. Not as quickly as the gun in this video but you can be back in action pretty quick if you practice.

John Browning didn't invent that version of the BAR (it's not directly derived from the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle). Marcel Olinger and Bruce Warren Browning (John Browning's grandson) of the Browning Company developed it in the 1960's. Other engineers have reworked the original [1960's] design ever since, and although it bears a faint cosmetic resemblance of the original BAR, it was not John Browning's design.

Now imagine this in .300 Win mag in the same exact format. I know they have the BAR Mark III ,but that's a 3+1 capacity with a hinged magazine. You can't make aftermarket magazines for it to fit. You need to remove the hinge mechanism entirely and convert it to a DBM model. Then manufacture a magazine. Nemo makes those for their Nemo Omen Watchmen rifle. If Browning made a BAR Mark IV DBM .300 Win Mag they could call it the Bear Medicine Defense. The Browning BMD Mark I DBM

Auto loaders will reduce some felt recoil. However if you don't get the trigger time at the range a bolt action or auto loader won't help lack of proficiency. I have an X Bolt topped off with a Z5 3.5-18x44 P BC and only because I practice under hunting conditions do I feel very comfortable that my first shot will be well placed. If all your time ar the range is shooting from a bench you shoot poorly when you shoot from a prone, sitting, kneeling or standing position. If using shootung sticks better take them to the range and practice with the sticks. In Texas we shoot from a blind towards a feeder at a range of 125 yards or less. The limited movement in a confined space of a blind requires a well placed shot the first time. Whatever you shoot get in that time and practice.

I handled one in the gun store a couple of years ago and the stock feels like it's a Barbie playhouse. In the video the action noise is hilarious. I think this is a good example of a gun that needs to have a lot of quality and function changes and updates and have its price cut in half before it becomes something that you want to purchase. Seriously you can get a really good rifle that most likely functions better have updates done by a gunsmith and still by yourself and the family dinner for that price.
