Hogs of War - Mission 25: Well, Well, Well! - The Hard Way (with Mardy Pigs)

The last thing I didn't do so far. Since I found the easy way I didn't have much motivation to wait for the legends. But today I decided to do it.
It wasn't as hard as expected. Only took three tries, including an emulator crash.

I used to use poison gas on all the pigs and just hide for about 100 turns

I used to use the cheap trick of killing the tank guy before the other men came haha. I was too impatient to wait for the poison gas to work. Fly on the centre of the tank move one. He gets out and falls off the edge because he lands on your head and he skips his go. Then jetpack and airstrike him move two and it's over.

12:09 this pigs theme with the slow volume down fade with the sudden spike ib loud volume and the sudden cutt off to the "this will be loud" is funnier than it should be

I remember as a kid, I would just disguise my first hog, then use the others to poison every single legend (or try to catapult them into the poison water if necessary), then damage them as much as possible and get my whole team wrecked. The first hog would then just keep disguising every turn until all legends are dead. Which takes like an hour, but it's an easy way of doing this.

I poisoned the enemy and then hid every turn. Took a VERRRY long time but I never realised you can hide under the swill pumps.

My tactic was to always save 3 heroes and two spies to try and take the shockwave, poison a couple of them and wait hehe

Such a nasty level. I remember 1st time I got here (pretty crap run medal wise, on the way up but this was years ago), was lucky to have 1 hero, a commando & the rest were spies. Took me ages to kill these bastards. Lost a lot of brave pigs on the way... Lol

I used to jetpack on top of the pillbox and wait until the enemy pig jumps out of it the next turn. Then, I would call an airstrike upon it before the legends arrive.

You can end this on turn 2 if i remember correctly, parachute 1st hog on top of the bunker and skip turn, enemy bombardier will always jump out, then use second hog to kill him and legends won't even spawn

When I wad a kid, this mission took me 2 hours to complete. I used to hide in the box and jump on their heads constantly, removing 5 or 7 hp per move.

Once you complete "hard mode" your team is renamed "WATTA PORK" so you're stuck in an endless loop of bonus FMV sequences. Oh well, nice cup of tea.

I remember that I was never able to defeat all the pigs so I flew up on that canon with a jetpack. The pig always came out of there and after u killed it the game was done if I remember correctly.

Very nice without a loss! I kept the two spyes till this mission but still collected all medals so I have 28 promotions left. I used them to promote 3 more spyes and fight with a spy-team. Strategy is to pickpocket shockwaves and airstrikes and blast the legends of the map. From their starting position also 2 TNTs are enough for a ring out. I even managed the survival bonus at first try this way 8-)

Hi. Have you ever attempted this mission with 2 or more high level engineers instead of Heros? I was forced to do this the first time I played the game and you can one-shot each enemy Legend out of the map with the super shotgun. Fun thing to try!

I remember as a kid I decided to pick pocket one of the legends and I got a strange weapon but before having a chance to use it the pig was kill, it was as if the game decided to target that one pig. I'd love to know if you've found a way to get it all the time 100% chance, is the icon for the Shockwave weapon like a black wine glass?

I noticed a similar thing. The AI copies some of your weapon use, providing that: they have it, the weapon hits them, and it was effective.

Why didn't you destroy all the pumps? I also failed and I do not know what I will get as a reward. I went through the mission the first time but only one survived and I received nothing ...

Why bother? They're pretty useful as covers. And by the time the AI runs out of air strike, you don't really need more weapons. Plus if it is mostly jetpacks as the video suggests then it's just a waste of time.

No, you don't need to. In fact they might even be indestructible (you can hide next to them to evade airstrikes).

Hey HowVideos, u still out there? Sorry I never recorded and uploaded the videos I wanted fighting hhhss till mission 25 and sssss beating the legends. However, Im currently working on something different, a TAS. With frame advance slow motion, savestates and half health glitch this game can be beaten in no time. Also disabling pig voices saves tons of time. Unfortunately Im currently facing trouble getting past level 3 loading screen but Ill keep u informed once I succeed.

TAS = Tool assisted speedrun. It means you dont use cheats or codes but speed up your input to the game with means of tools and emulation. Frame advance lets you pause and play every single frame for maximum precision. Unfortunately epsxe doesnt have it and the emu I started with crashes on trench warfare. Also I use glitches and keep save/reloading... The only thing I currently dont have is frame advance so I must aim normally, still the run is big fast. I just finished hogs head in 12:10. Im currently uploading the video of this and Ill send it to you or post it here if you like.

Huh Im sorry but you do not want to see this. An old tube screen filmed by the built in video function of an actual photo camera. My Metal Gear videos aint too bad but hogs of war I think is only enjoyable with a capture card ;) Youre right mission 22 was harder but still simple while 23 was a pain. Other than you trying to kill the last hero first to avoid an airstrike I got that one but kept that guy on 4 hp or so. Then he went to the shelter skipping turns so I had time to move the spyes n c

Aldrich Constantine Tapispisan The mission is to dominate the isle and defeat the enemy inside. As the pumps are the most valuable thing for them, destroying makes ur enemy weaker. The one owing the pumps dominates the world and thats why the war started.
